From the label: "FOR OPTIMAL FRESHNESS ENJOY BY: 08.19.17"

Appearance: The body is a nice dark copper color with hints of brown and dark orange. The body is has good clarity. The head is a short tobacco stained off-white color with a creamy texture and a short stature. It has very good retention and at "11.5% ALC/VOL" (as indicated on the label) it is simply amazing.

Aroma: There is a nice spruce aroma to the beer with somewhat of an oak wood scent. It has a very forest-like presence. The aroma strength is moderate. Overall it smells nice.

Taste: Up front there is this nice caramel flavor that transitions into a bit of a toasted toffee flavor. There is this bitter pine flavored backdrop which seems to line up nicely alongside the malt flavors. It is also important to note that there is no alcohol flavor to the beer.

Mouthfeel: It is medium bodied and velvety smooth. It just has this oozy texture to it which coats the palate. There is a nice strong bitterness underlining the beer. It's enjoyable to drink.

Overall: It's an outstanding beer with a lot of great flavor and character. Although the aroma is pretty mild it is still very good and it adds to the overall quality of the beer. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a malty pine-forward Double IPA. I would drink it again.

It had a nice taste, and strong buzz that rolls in nicely. I prefer buying a 6 pack and splitting it with a friend.

Pours a copper caramel color. Very boozy smell for a beer with faint citrus notes. Malty taste with a strong boozy finish left on the pallet. Beer feels frothy and thick.

= A DIPA that will assault you. It feels better suited as a barley wine than a DIPA. At 11.5% the alcohol is evident but it's not too overdone. Enjoy one of these. If you hit them back to back they will put you in the dog house... I give this a high overall since the alcohol doesn't trump the taste in what I thought it almost certainly would.

Truth is I buy this one at the grocery store because of the high alcohol content which certainly is not masked by a balanced flavor. It's decent but not a must have. I do love the label art which is what drew me to this beer in the first place.

Semi-deep golden in color with a half finger of fizzy head. Aromas of sweet malt and light citrus and a touch of soapiness, refreshing. Tastes are of citrus with a good amount of alcohol feel, just a touch too much. Overall, feel is decent, a touch rough around the edges, but relatively clean on the finish and citrusy

This is one damned fine DIPA. Amber in color and lots of malt in the nose and on the palate, but tropical fruits (mango) shine through on both the nose and palate. At 11.5%, it's meant to be savored, but if you're home, have a second! Flying Dog knocked this one out of the park.

All I have to say about this beer is it tastes super boozy and definitely a beer to sip on.

Pours with a two finger pure white head. Color is dark clear amber with ruby highlights.

Nose is weak grapefruit, hay, faint Mango. I must have an old beer - it has an enjoy by date of 5/20/2017. Today is 2/25/2017. 3 more months - but I can tell the hops have faded.

Taste is medium malt, sweet biscuit, grapefruit rind, mild citrus. Mild describes the hop presence. Dissapointing.

Bitterness is good. Strong alcohol flavor.

If I had this beer 3 months ago, it would probably have been awesome.

I love flying dogs oyster stout. Disappointed by this beer. Well crafted, but how old is it?

355ml bottle poured into a snifter.

Hazy amber orange color, it tops with thick frothy off-white head that stands with good retention before gradually collapsing to an everlasting foamy sheet on the surface and leaving moderate amount of sticky lacing on the glass-side.

Very hoppy aroma of Cascade, it is rich with citrus, juicy, grapefruit, mango, floral, spice, pepper, grass, pine, and resin. Malt is also there with its bread and sweet caramel while alcohol slightly reveals when the beer starts to warm.

Loads of hop in the taste reflect by citrus, grapefruit, mango, peppery spice, pine, resin, and persistent bitterness. Malt is not sunken but stands upright with its sweet, bread, and caramel same time with a bold touch of warming alcohol. Finish with quite lasting bitterness and residual alcohol sweetness.

The body is rather full with some crisp and moderate carbonation through the palate, quite smooth through the mouthfeel with a dry finish.

Good DIPA, it is very hoppy with good malt bill to leverage. The alcohol presence is prominent but being distracted by its deliciousness.
