Pours a deep clear red with a decent cap of creamy light tan head. There is adequate retention and there is pretty good soapy and slightly sticky lacing. The aroma is a little anemic with just faint whiffs of grain. There is a little more to the taste and it really has a nice dark grain flavor with a little sweetness. The body is lighter but not thin and has a nice crisp finish.

12 oz bottle. Pours amber with tall, long lasting off white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of piney hops, and caramel malt. Body is medium and crisp. Piney, spicy, herbal hops, caramel malt and ripe fruit fill the mouth. Finish is long and spicy. Very good session brew.

Pours a dark copper/amber color, nice moderate foam head and good lace retention.
The smell has some sweetness; toasted malts, biscuit and dark fruit.
The taste has some crispness although it falls a little flat towards the end. Mostly toasted malt forward with some mild hops bitterness. Some sweetness, but overall pretty balanced. The mouthfeel is medium to light and slick.
A nice non complex ale that is easy to drink. A good change of pace.

Not sure wher I got this one...Hop forward, but still plenty of malt. Tasty , slick , slippery. Was hoping for a bit more finish, but right in the wheelhouse for the style

Poured into a dimpled mug from the 12 oz. glass. Sampled on January 31, 2016.

The pour is maroon-red mainly with a short-lived off-white head.

The aroma brings out a sweet malt and nutty sensation with vague earthy hops behind all of that.

Light to medium body.

Like the aroma, the malty toastiness is more prominent in the flavor with a modest sweetness and a low hop profile. But it ends clean.

Aroma is caramel malts, light fruit, a hint of hops and earthy. The flavor is caramel malts, fruit/berries, mild sweetness/sugar, a hint of earthiness and a mix of slight tartness and light bitterness in the finish.

Looks more dark amber than red. fair amount of head from an aggressive pour.
Smells like caramel malt, almost reminded me of a maibock
Taste is also predominantly malt and honey with some earthy and grassy notes on the finish
Feel is middle of the road, very drinkable- substantial but still sessionable
Overall enjoyed, wouldn't mind having another

Not bad for a Irish Red, not great for Flying Dog. Earthy taste and aroma, expected a bit sweeter taste.
