On tap at Against the Grain, Dublin.
Glowing dark amber with creamy beige film that rings.
Gooey nectar nose with toasty hints.
Granola, candy corn and marmalade up front, with a Seville hop hit.
Piney herbal finish and resiny linger that also has a powdery Berocca orange quality.
Medium-light, oily, well-attenuated.
Cali hops redux. I know Chinook to be pine more than citrus, but also don't see it as aroma much, so I'm guessing that's why the orange notes are a surprise. The 10% is *very* quiet.
Lean and sly.

Hey Mikkeller. Suck it.
Looks nice on the pour. Good head. Flavor profile is a bit boozy really. But the hop character that is there is earthy and consistent. Somewhat muddled, but it's still distinct. Feel is smooth. Kind of a sipper from the boozy tone, but I like it.
This is how a single hopped beer should be.

A: This poured a hazy gold with moderate white head.
S: It smelled like bitter orange zest, with some sweet caramel malt and candied apricot.
T: It tasted like orange zest and candied apricot, with some copper hops and sweet caramel. It had a mostly clean and bitter aftertaste with alcohol warming.
M: It was slightly thick with moderate carbonation. Decent body.
D: This was a decent 2IPA, interesting to better understand Chinook hops. But otherwise nothing spectacular in the scent or taste or body. It had a fairly hot finish, so it was not the easiest to drink. Nice to try once, but not a super impressive brew.

Flying Dog Single Hop Imperial (Chinook) isn't the best of the flying dog single hop imperials. It's spicy and has some chlorine flavour.
A: Orange colour and a 3 mm head that lasts pretty well. 4
S: Sweet hoppy smell as well as some chlorine aroma. Some pine aroma. 3.5
T: Malty with some sweet and spicy flavours. Juicy orange and strong alcohol. Some chlorine in the finish and some bitterness. 3.5
