Pours to a hazy copper/orange color with just a rind for a head. The aroma is floral, fruity, and juicy. I don’t get any smoke in the aroma. The flavor is very unusual. It is floral and somewhat fruity, again no smoke. It is light bodied and easy drinking with minimal carbonation. A very unusual beer, needs more Rauch malts.

Pale and hazed golden orangish color of peach skin, very loosely bubbled off white head, some bubbles stay around the edge as it thins out from the middle, minimal spots of lace stick.
Aroma is quite light with a traceable amount of moldy hardwoods, moss, and dirt with a slight hint of smoked meat.
Taste starts weak, builds a nudge to some strange fruityness thats past its prime, old or bruised apple and pear, some slight smokey meats are underneath coming through in some the finish. More like an iced tea with smoked hot dog juices, sounds yummy huh?
Feel is thin, empty, tinny in areas, bland to say the least. I don't know what the hell is going on with Viking but this is ridiculous. Another dud. How do they make the yummy 'Big Swede' then turn around and make this and a few others duds with such a blantant disreguard for character and respect for the end product? Hello...cutting corners are we?

pours out a clear, perfect amber colour. very thin, fine head. ample lacing. it's perfectly clear now what the house yeast provides the drinker as far as aroma and taste. this beer again is all roasted pumpkin seeds. some hints of smoke and fire. the barley malt flavours are of the glazed caramel vareity...with the rest of the flavour profile seemingly a delicate balance of beechwood and that "pumpkin" taste. in fact it says on the bottle: "a delicate beechwood smoked beer". i swear to god, anyone that has carved pumpkins and oven roasted the seeds will attest to the fact that the marzen beer from viking and now this "rauch" or smoke beer is all about the pumpkins. i'm not kidding. in fact there seems little difference between the copperhead and the rauch. i'm not saying it's bad....just unique. tastes of gourds, squash, carrots and pumpkins. mouthfeel is medium to a bit thin...making for an easy drinking beer if you're into the flavour profile. actually the smoke notes are a bit lame; i'd prefer more of an intensity to my rauch beer. not really recommended.

Hmmmm, it lokks pretty nice with a deep amber color and small white head. The aroma is cider, light smoke and slightly vegetable like. It is medium bodied with a smoked meat-like flavor and maybe a little caramel malt with a smokey finish. It's really lacking in malt base for the smokey flavor. Even the grilled food I ate with it didn't change my impression. Not horrible but definitely lacking.

Uggh...I've been impressed with all of Viking's stuff until this one...

Pours a decent hazy orange. Off-white head fades to a wisp, but stays around.
Just a little faint smoke on the nose (actually, a weird smokiness...not all that good).
Start off with minor smoke on the taste buds. Some grassy flavors here too. Switches to an odd citric sourness in the finish. Not good at all.
Soda-like body and carbonation do not help things.

Tastes like someone ashed a joint into a bottle of 7-up.
Stay away
