Amber/copper in colour with a soapy tan head. Just an average looking ale. Aroma has some biscuity malt along with pine and citrus. Taste somewhat malty sweet at first but quickly turns to over the top bitter. If I wanted an IPA this bitter I would have bought a double IPA. This is not the worst I've had but certainly not the best either, just average. Wait for a sale then give it a try.

She pours a dark hazy amber colored body with a two finger white foamy head that settles to a film coating the top of the glass and as it goes down a decent amount of clingy lacing appears. The smell starts out with a slightly herbal, earthy somewhat minty flavoring and as it warms there’s a slight tobacco I do get, all of this combines into a bitter sort of way. The taste is mainly bitter as she goes down, the same earthy yet herbal aftertaste that leaves out the mint and tobacco. It has a dry finish. On the palate, its about a light to medium, slightly sessionable - maybe. Carbonation tries to coat the mouth and tongue, but mainly settles around, it doesn’t seem like it has enough harshness for an AIPA, but then again, this did come out in November. Overall, for the most part, not a bad AIPA, but nothing spectacular.

Pours hazy, amber in color with 1/3 inch head. Taste is deep caramel malt with bitter leafy hops. Taste is initially sweet then massively bitter, medium-light bodied, with medium-low carbonation. Taste is really unbalanced...Sweet goes to massively bitter quickly...Avoid this beer..Not pleasant at all...One of my lowest BA scored beers ever.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Semi-opaque golden orange pour. 1.5 fingers of white head leave spotty lacing on the glass.

S: Biscuity malts and resinous pine. Pepper and spice.

T/F: Medium bodied IPA... grainy malt character with a pretty bitter hop profile. Pine and resin with peppercorn and spice. Citrus rind. Finish is bitter hops.

O: Not a bad IPA but not overly memorable either. Good bitterness... easy enough to drink. Not one I'd seek out but would drink again if offered.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a pretty orange/bronze color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is mild, some light malts. Taste is piney hops, minty, some malts, flavors seem to be just not meshing well. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a mediocre beer.

Strange beer for me. Smell is very bready like a lager. Don't get any hop aromas. Reminds me of a PBR. Taste is also similar to a lager like a PBR. Plenty of bitterness. In fact, all bitter, but no hop flavor. This tastes like a really bitter PBR.

Poured into a 13 oz tulip glass best by September, I am assuming 2016. Pours a very attractive reddish orange with a 2 finger sticky white head that leaves amazing lace behind.

Smell is very bitter lemon, grapefruit, caramel, biscuit, and pine.

Taste follows pine, lemon, and grapefruit actually a crazy amount of bitterness.

Mouthfeel is medium, plenty of life, very dry, and drinkability is good if you like grapefruit rind.

Overall this is a amazingly aggressive IPA, especially considering it is only 6.5% ABV. Thanks @jzeilinger for this bitter bomb.

A - Copper amber color with small floaties and a thin, soapy white lacing.

S - Caramel malt, light citrus, and mild spice.

T - Caramel malt throughout with citrus and some herbal character. Moderate citrus on the back end which morphs into a moderate resiny citrus presence.

M - Medium body, very mild carbonation.

O - Very balanced up front with a building hop resin on the back end. Better yet, an IPA that comes from Washington State to the East Coast that's fresh and also date stamped on the label. Despite the score, I'd buy this again. Solid.

12oz bottle purchased at Main Market in Spokane for $1.19. It appears Fish neglected to make a freshness “notch” in the space provided on the label, so there’s no telling how old this is.

Poured a hazy orange-amber color. Half-inch or so of bubbly beige foam stuck around for a little while and left lace on the sides of a Mass Transit Ale pint glass (thanks, Connie).

Juicy, grapefruity aroma to this. A little bit of malty sweetness was way in the background.

More bitter and herbal tasting than the nose let on.

Oily, prickly mouthful to this.

Bitter end was right, along with bitter start and bitter middle.. Definitely an IPA that will only appeal to a certain kind of hophead, one that likes things dank and bitter. I found it pretty good, but a little one dimensional. I’d like to try a bottle of this I know is fresh.
