12 ounce bottle. Fish Tale Amber pours out a dark amber color with a small head. The aroma is malty and a bit fruity. The flavor starts off sweet and malty, but a smoky tobacco like flavor comes in at the middle. This is accompanied by a light fruitiness. Finishes with a grassy hop flavor. Medium mouthfeel. Drinkability is quite good. This beer is a lot more refreshing than I expected. A good amber ale.

Poured into a mug: color is amber, a little murky, head presents at least 1/2 inch deep, head is light tan with fine bubbles.

Smell is pleasant malt with toast, light caramel and hint of biscuit; hops are present- earthy and herbal aromas.

Taste is similar to the aroma with good toast, caramel and biscuit flavor with earthy and herbal hops.

Mouthfeel is crisp, a bit sharp maybe from fermentation, moderate carbonation.

Overall a good, solid amber ale with pleasant flavor and aroma.

I respect beer and respect it even more when it's organic. With only 2 ingredients in addition to water, Fish Tale Amber Ale is a winner in my book.

Smell is that of a lightly roasted malt which suggests that it'll be an easy drinker. The color is a deep amber only made more beautiful when held in a little sunlight (where any respected beer should be imbibed). The head was surprisingly creamy and only hurt a little when I accidentally sniffed some up.. whoops! The mouth feel was lighter than expected and honestly left me wanting a little, unfortunately. Overall, I love that it is organic, delicious and refreshing. I will definitely be snagging a six pack again.

Anyone know where fish tale is on tap in Seattle?

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a decent hazy looking orange color with a quickly dissipating one finger white foamy head. There was some light lacing that slid into the beer. The smell had some roasty dried caramel malts that showed some light sweetness. Also, there were some light nuts. The taste was mainly sweet but also had a decent roasty dried caramel. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a slight watery finish. Overall, weird beer. I guess it’s just weird beer night. Would I have this again, probably not on purpose but I still could be swayed if I had to.

Been drinking this stuff for nearly 20 years. In a one word review, I would simply say: average.
But we like to get into the usual descriptors repeated ad nauseum so here we go:

Amber beer pours amber in color, a solid 5/6" white head on the top, good retention. Aroma was of red malt caramel and not much else.

Taste reveals more of the red malt edge, some hopping that isn't the usual Cascade hopping, not exorbitant by any means, I'm guessing this is around 40ibu? Keeps the red and and caramel malts in the mouth feel the whole time. The hops are relatively negligible aside from the bitterness contribution.

I bought this one as part of a build your own 6 pack. It's not a back beer with nice color and smell. There was nothing special in the taste but on the other hand it was easy to drink. I would give it another try.

This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a fairly hazy burnt red color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute. Trickling messy lacing runs down into the glass.
The smell started off with some caramel, roasty and semi-sweet, light floral yet subtle toffee combines decently.
The taste was moderately sweet with an ample amount of roastiness to amplify and surround nicely. Bready to slick biscuity aftertaste leads into the finish.
The mouthfeel accompanies a nice slickness to it. Surprisingly enough, its definitely one that just rolls right on down my throat.
Overall, good Amber ale that just comes off pretty sessionable. Definitely a food beer.
