A: Dark orange with nice clarity and a fleeting white head.

S: Uninspired but strong bready malt base with muted, dull, and abused citrus hop notes. They've learned their lesson and they do not want to be beaten again. Alcohol is strong. Alcohol and boring malt dominate.

T: An abundance of bread, caramel, and booze. Wow, that's an unpleasant combination. The bitterness is harsh and astringent, being heavy on the citrus rind. Tastes like some orange soaked in grain alcohol. The finish is overwhelmed by malt with stinging booze.

M: Medium body with lower medium carbonation. The mouthfeel is heavy and syrupy.

Overall: This is hilariously bad. This is one of the worst Double IPAs I've had. Thank god this was free.

Appearance: the dipa pours with a nice yellow head that dissipates fairly quickly. The beer itself is a deep opaque amber. Other than the head, it has the common attributes of an double IPA.

Smell: A ton of residual sugar and caramel on the nose with a very
light, almost nonexistent, floral hop character. Has the scent of unfinished or improperly brewed homebrew.

Taste: the first flavors that hit my pallette are rubbing alcohol, caramel, molasses and a slight hoppy bitterness. The bitterness lingers butnim not sure if that is the alcohol or the hops. This beer is pretty bad.

Mouthfeel: Over carbonated providing a ver sharp bite on the tongue. Not enough body for an imperial IPA. Could use additional residual sugar to balance the alcohol and hops.

This is the first beer from this brewery that I've had but it has not left a good impression on me. I've heard their Monkfish is good so I will give that a try before passing judgement on the brewery itself.

This beer tasted like rubbing alcohol with a medicinal finish. There is a light taste of hops that fades very quickly into above mentioned tastes. Bought in a big bottle and one sip was more then enough for me.

Picked this one up tonight at Brewforia in Meridian. The label says 89 IBU's and I think they might be underestimating a bit. :-)

Poured into my small Cigar City goblet... pours a clear orange... the not much in the way of a head... but a short lasting sorta hazy yellow film rises and drops quickly.. cap and lacing are pretty much nonexistent... Good color, but more head would be a bunch better.

Hop nose is huge and fresh... bunches of fruity hoppiness with some good floral essence.... a fair amount of pale malts help bloom the hops, but in the end, this smells like a bitter bomb.

bracing bitterness begins up front and doesn't let up until the finish... the hops are again pretty fresh, but are bombarded by the bitter bite... decent citrus and tropical fruitiness mid palate toward the end... the malts are a touch thick for a PNW DIPA... but still help the hops come and play around the palate.. lingering grapefruit pithiness lingers forever.

Bigger body than most DIPA... light carbonation accentuates the thicker mouthfeel and does nothing to make it more drinkable...

I was expecting more for paying 11.99 for a bomber...granted the beer has 9.9%, I think the beer is 'trying' to do more than it 'does.' (with the x2 IPAs), It’s strong, but too flat…Tastes like home-brew…This beer is worth $4.99, not $11.99...
not impressed :~(

Pours a murky orange-gold color with a white head that was barely noticed before it was gone. Very malty nose. Nearly no aromatic hop presence. DIPA?? Mouthfeel is nice with good balance. Very malty flavor. Bittering hops want to appear toward the middle/finish, but some misplaced Belgian yeast spice bullies its way into the palate. Not very good at all.

Pours an amber caramel with a slight white head. Aroma is super caramelly, florals, perfumey, and a touch of orange oeell. Flavor pretty much followed suit. Mouthfeel is a little thicker, some activity. Overall, forgettable IIPA.Not offensive or anything, but wouldn't have bought this had I known what it would be.

A: Medium hazy dark copper. Tan head with medium carbonation and low head retention.

S: Malt and alcohol followed by orange peel. Lots of alcohol.

T: Mild crisp hints with dried leaves and rose petal. A little vanilla and caramel. Strong alcohol on the finish.

M: Big thick and syrupy. The tanginess balance out the big body a little but it's still a bit strong. Alcohol and dried herbs linger for a medium length aftertaste.

O: Big, but without as much depth as I would like. Perhaps just the alcohol is covering the flavor. It was described as a double ipa, but it lacked the crispness to be called that; it felt more like a barleywine.

Poured from a 22oz bottle into pint glass in May 2017. Drank it about 2 weeks after purchase. Bottled on date was Mar 2015.

Appearance: Dark golden with a tan/brown head. Body is opaque and a little hazy. Head is thick, and leaves a good amount of lacing on the glass.

Smell: Citrus and some hops aroma. Overall it is a sweet aroma, and not fillwed with as much hops aroma as I expected.

Taste: Nice bitter flavors from the hops, but the flavors do not last as long as other IPAs. Strong alcohol flavor, similar to a whiskey, which is expected with 9.9% alcohol.

Mouth-feel: Medium, and with a smooth creamy body. Matches the 9.9% alcohol on the label. Sweet and not as bitter as I would have expected from a IPA.

This is an easy drinking IPA. It has nice flavors and is not too bitter for those who do not like IPAs that are too strong. My preference would be a little more hops to add some edge to the flavor, and also to extend the flavor and after-taste.
