Purchased at Wegman's in State College.
LOOK: Pours a clear pale amber color with a nice slightly off white head and has both sold retention and side glass lace.
AROMA: Citrus of mandarin oranges, with some tropical fruit scents, floral lightly pungent hops and a touch of caramel sweetness.
TASTE: Citrus hop flavor is moderate, while bread and toasted malts play a more prominent role. Caramel sweetness also noted.
Dry at the finish. Has some solid pale ale characteristics, none of which are overpowering. A nicely balanced pale ale brew.

I don't see a date code listed on the bottle or the label.
Appearance: The beer is a medium-dark copper color that is murky and hazy, allowing very little through the glass other than hazy shadows. The cap on the beer is a tobacco stained looking off-white head with a creamy texture. Good lacing but not much for retention.
Aroma: A strong aroma of lemon and pine comes through in the vein of Pinesol and Lemon Pledge. It smells bright and inviting.
Taste: Lemon, lime, and a stronger pine character come through up front. A bright flavor of spruce tips comes through in the middle. It finishes off with a resinous pine character that borders on the edge of both woody and citrus. The aftertaste is enjoyable and it has a slight menthol coolness.
Mouthfeel: The beer has a very strong hop character and a healthy supporting bitterness, leaning much farther into IPA territory. The hop character is great but it lacks balance. It floats in the lower realms of a medium body and it finishes somewhat dry with a somewhat chalky finish on the teeth.
Overall: The bottle states that this is a "PALE ALE" and that it is "5% ALC BY VOL" but it isn't a very pale beer. That being said, it is a well-made beer. The hop characters in both the aroma and flavor are very nicely intact. Aside from the ABV this drinks more like an IPA than an American Pale Ale. It's a great beer and any hop lover would be in heaven to drink this, but as a Pale Ale it lacks subtlety, nuance, and restraint. I would definitely drink it again and I would recommend it to anyone who really wants a blast of hop character.

Had on-tap at the RL Lounge, Olympia, WA
Appearance - Served in a standard pint, clear and copperish-orange in color with a thin, broken layer of surface suds. Not much lacing; a handful of small spots.
Smell - Floral and citrusy hop aroma. Slight caramel sweetness beneath.
Taste - Follows the nose. Mild floral and citrusy hop character with a hint of caramel and some bready sweetness. Finish adds a hint of pith bitterness.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with fair carbonation. Slick, easy drinker with a slightly dry finish.
Overall - Pretty standard West Coast APA. I like it, but not one that's gonna grab your attention.

Amber color with a thick off-white head with medium retention.
Nice aroma with lots of passionfruit, mild pine, caramel and biscuit malt, lychees
Hoppy flavor with notes of grapefruit, slightly toasted malts, resin, spicy and floral hops, and tea with peaches. Dry and bitter aftertaste. Its 35 IBUs were well spent.
Light to medium body with appropriate carbonation.
Good APA with a more resiny and spicy profile than average with tropical and citrus in second level. I wouldn’t mind to have a six-pack.

Pours a hazy amber/brown color and leaves the same colored body with a one finger white foamy head that dies at a moderate pace, some light lacing tries to cling but slides into the body. The smell has some light citrus with some honey and caramel, light toffee all combined and coming across in a smooth sort of way. The taste has a smooth sort of sweetness rolling across my mouth and tongue to heighten the citrus and honey aspects that are combining again with the toffee; sticky sweet caramel-like aftertaste; sweet dry finish. On the palate, she sits about a light to medium sort of body with a semi-sessionable quality amounting to go fairly well with food. Carbonation seems a bit harsh but in a subdued sort of way, decent for the style and for me. Overall, it's a pretty decent APA at best.

12oz bottle poured into tulip.
Pours a hazy golden amber with one finger of beige head that leaves distant mountain range lace as it recedes.
Smells of bitter orange, caramel biscuit, sappy pine, wet stone and resiny, citrusy hops.
Tastes of more bitter citrus oils, fresh bread, flinty minerals and more piney hops.
Feels light and smooth. Medium bodied with frothy carbonation. Finishes dry.
Verdict: Recommended. Pretty solid.

12oz single bottle - wow, it's been a while since I've since any of this brewery's wares up here in Alberta. Kind of sexy label, I gotta say.
This beer pours a clear, medium copper amber colour, with three fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and somewhat bubbly tan head, which leaves some layered streaky and sudsy lace around the glass as it lazily subsides.
It smells of bready and biscuity caramel malt, muddled domestic citrus pith, faint earthy yeasty notes, and some nice leafy, weedy, and piney green hop bitters. The taste is gritty and grainy pale malt, a lesser caramel sweetness, acrid orange and white grapefruit rind, sort of musty yeast, and more edgy leafy, herbal, and grassy verdant hoppiness.
The carbonation is fairly robust in its straight-shooting frothiness, the body a so-so middleweight, and generally smooth, with a very subtle airy creaminess arising as things move out of basement bar fridge temperatures. It finishes trending dry, as both the citrus and pine esters seem to possess the chutzpah to linger well into that good night.
Overall, this is a pleasant enough Yankee pale ale, the West Coast hop treatment duly noted and appreciated. Enjoying a Fish Brewing offering is like meeting an old friend after a long time, something that I should really be doing more of, metaphorically and otherwise.
