12.7 fl oz. bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present. I've been holding this beer down for a couple of months now, and finally decided to try it out. A strange beer at that, identifies itself as a 'barley wine style weiss beer'. No abv listed on the bottle anywhere. I'm not entirely sure of what to expect here.

Poured into a clear balloon snifter.

A - Pours a burnt sienna orange colored body, almost IPA like in appearance with two fingers of foamy off-white head and lots of chunky sediment floating around in the glass. Minor scattered spotty lacing.

S - The smell is pretty awful, in my honest opinion. Grainy, wheaty, spicy, and yeasty. Some bubblegum / clove noticeable, but there is a godawful pungent horseradish sort of aroma that is really sickening me out on this one.

T - Taste is extremely dry and grainy. Herbal / grassy with some clove spice, banana, and bubblegum present also.

M - Feel is clean, lightly crisp, grainy, and lightly syrupy. Full-bodied with low carbonation.

Overall, a unique and interesting beer, that's for sure. I can't say I've ever had a beer quite like this one before, but that is for better and for worse, definitely. Drinkable enough for what it is, and the weighty abv, which I'm sure is around 10.00% abv like the others, is hardly noticeable.

Wheaty nose – smells like a malt house early in the kilning joined by wine, fruit and a hint of must. It pours brilliant amber with a thin, lacy head that quickly dissipates to a film. It has a fruity palate, primarily peach with wheat notes – baguette – some light caramel and mild wine notes. It is thick, full bodied, almost oily with slightly below average carbonation.

This beer is a bright, clear-translucent medium orange. The head is lightly yellow-tinted pillow of creamy fluff roughly one finger tall. Retention is pretty strong, and lacing sticks moderately well.
Yeast, must, fruits, bubblegum, and a touch of pith comprise the nose with something like molasses underneath. A bit of ethanol sneaks some warmth in at the end.
The taste follows suit with strong overtones of earth and a twang of lemon coming in with the ripe fruits and bubblegum. Where the apple and something almost foggy translate from the aroma, a bit of pear is in here as well.
The fell is transitional, a medium body moving from downright chewy up front to crisp and biting in the middle to finish. There's a certain thickness in the mid-range, and it ends drier than it begins.

Somehow this is the 13th vintage of this beer i've had, (2001-2013). At some point I stopped caring about them, but seeing the last bottle of this vintage at a random shop piqued my curiosity again. "Ages 2-5 years" proclaims the label, it doesn't say anything about cabernet barrels, and doesn't really smell or taste like it either.

Pours a bright saturated orange, until the suspended yeast particles start to seep in halfway through the pour. Momentary skim that fades fast, leaving a thin ring of clumpy bubbles around the edges.

Aroma is all musty cork at first, with a sticky sweet oxidized malt element creeping in. Smells like old, oxidized beer. As it warms there's and oddly medicinal olive brine note.

Tastes ok in the sense that it's not bad, but it's not really good either. Syrupy sweet, heavily malty and yeasty, stale bread and year-old hefeweizen. Full bodied, slick and viscous, mellow carbonation. Warming alcohol, slightly nutty.
Overall I didn't really enjoy it, I remember the more recent drafts being better on draft.

500 ml green cork and caged bottle poured into a snifter.
2013 Vintage "This beer can be enjoyed now or cellared. 2-5 years"

A - Slightly heavier and less carbonated, the bubbles slowly rise to the surface through the faintly cloudy golden beer; it's white head lingering briefly to retain some aroma and decorate the snifter in spotty lace.

S - Wheat's typical soft and delicate nature in most wheat beers is greatly amplified in Bare Tree with a thick, heavier nose that almost resembles warm oatmeal. Banana and clove poke through the caramel sweetness and warming alcohol giving this wheat wine a complex nose.

T - Hefty caramel chew sweetness and abundant soft wheat make for a powerful beer up front while banana and clove hefeweiss-like notes dance on the tongue with warming phenolic alcohol on the finish.

M - Bare Tree's soft, creamy entry leads to an overall smooth body that, despite the lighter flavor, is pretty full. Livened up by gentle carbonation, the warming alcohol finish trails off with a "come back for another sip" dryness.

O - I remember the first time I had Two Brothers' Bare Tree in my craft beer infancy; it was revolutionary - eye opening. To this day, after all these beers, it still remains unique and complex, ripe with loads of wheat and suggestions of fruit and spice; almost the perfect transitional beer for the slowly warming days of spring that haven't yet let go of winter's chill.

A: The beer is clear drag golden yellow in color and has a slight amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a minuscule head that quickly died down, leaving only a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of malts soaked in wine barrels are present in the nose along with some hints of wheat.
T: The taste is much more complex than the smell and has additional hints of toffee towards the finish.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer definitely tastes relatively strong, but the alcohol is well masked and doesn't detract from the taste.
