Vintage 2015 consumed 1-28-19.

Pours a rich dark brown. The head is 2 finger, tan, and frothy with good retention. The foam clings to the side of the glass as the head dissipates.
The nose is quite rich with peppermint. There's just a slight hint of chocolate.
Taste - a mellow peppermint mixed with chocolate. The peppermint is more up front and the chocolate is on the backside.
A lot thicker bodied than I was expecting from the ABV. The peppermint leaves a crisp feeling in my throat.
This was an accidental aging project, but it worked out great. I should get this beer and try it fresh sometime.

This sounded good, but tasted pretty bland and cola-esque. Body was super light, caramel colored cola, prickly, little woody bitter roast and a tiny hint of mint.

pours nice black with pillowy head that travels with the beer as it is downed. nose is light peppermint with some roasty notes and faint chocholate. taste follows nose with nice fresh mint floating from front to mid palate giving way eventually to a chocholate and roasty end palate. finishes dry with lingering peppermint. mouthfeel is medium but for the abv is adequate. I bought this with the notion that it would be peppermint overload. it was not which is a good thing. the peppermint gives the beer a freshness to it and the chocholate notes really balance it out. a nice surprise. im not sure how many I would want but one bomber was a treat. nice festive beer. glad I tried and great around the holidays.

Almost completely black color. Medium body with just a bit of a creamy feel. Aroma is peppermint but not overwhelming or overdone. Roasted malt, chocolate, and some vanilla. Taste is identical, just a little sweet but appropriate for this beer. The mint is not overpowering and allows the chocolate and other flavors to come through in a very pleasing way. Not a beer to have more than one but it was a very good porter that worked great as a dessert beer

Peppermint Bark Porter. On tap at Pints in Elmhurst, IL.

Served in a shaker, the beer is dark brown with a light brown head and great lacing.

Awesome aroma of peppermint and roasted malts.

The taste tracks the smell. Peppermint, coco, roasted malts and a bit of dark fruit. This is a great beer to share with your non BA friends.

The mouth is silky with low carbonation and a bit of heft.

This is the best "new to me" holiday beer of 2015.

Had this on 2016-11-17 at the brewery on tap

Tastes like it sounds. Lots of peppermint but still some good roast.

Pours a dark brown, not quite black when held up to the light. There is about a half inch or so of a tan head that reduces down to lacing across the top, giving a nice look.

Smell is mainly mint with a hint of dark chocolate. Reminds me of a mint chocolate bar.

Peppermint dominates the flavor at first, followed by dark chocolate. There is a touch of hop bitterness at the finish, and the mint flavor lingers.

Slightly thin feel for the style, but nothing really to complain about.

A bit of a unique holiday beer. It is almost 2 weeks before Christmas as I am trying this, as I was in the mood for a new holiday beer. I think the best way to describe this one is the liquid version of a mint chocolate candy bar. How much you like it likely depends on how much you like mint, and being a big fan of it, I enjoyed this one. Not one I'd want to drink huge amounts of, but a nice beer for the season.
