Look is deceivingly light copper in color compared to the deeply sweet/rich dark toffee taste. I LOVE these malty with the light hops on the end ales. I wish I had bought a 6-pack of these instead of 1 in a sampler 6 pack.

Amber hue, malty/sweet aroma. Creamy mouthfeel with a very malty base and a bright citrusy top end. The beer tastes fine, but doesn't really strike me as a farmhouse/country style ale. I'd regard it as more of an amber- akin to Fat Tire or Bell's Amber.

Pours dark copper with an average white head. Good lacing. Smells malty and creamy. Tastes like a creamy amber ale. Mouthfeel is light. Overall, good middle of the road beer.

Rather straightforward malt beer that has some lager yeast notes sprinkled around but not much else. It is fairly non-descript and borderline adjunct, but it isn't offensive in any way.

Growing up in suburban chicago, this was the go to intro micro. I still love it and it's not just teenage nostalgia. Complicated notes for a pretentious styled brew in a simple package. And you can have a sixer and still have room in your tummy for ramen.

Had this on 2016-11-17 at the brewery on tap and again on 2017-05-12 at California Pizza Kitchen on tap.

A - clear mahogany with a 1/2 finger head and good lace

S - Very mild aroma. Caramel, toasted bread

T - Very tasty. Toasted bread, pear, caramel and balancing bitterness

M - Medium body and carbonation

O - Easy drinking and enjoyable. Not a Saison flavor. More like a spicy Vienna Lager.
