A: very slight haze; bronze in color; 1 finger off white head that receded quickly to a blotchy cap; OK lacing;

S: orange, lemon, bread;

T: bready up front, then a very nice muted orange; mild bitterness on the finish; finish is short;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation;

O: refreshing; easy drinking; doesn't really follow the style guidelines, but it's very enjoyable;

Pours a brass color with a one finger khaki colored head.
Aroma is very faint. Smells of peat moss, french oak, apple strudel, caramel and sultanas.
I'm not really getting much flavor... it tastes like water. Just a very mild but pleasant caramel malt taste with notes of wood and apples in the background.
I can see how this would pair nicely with food. The feel is very light and watery but where is the flavor?

Overall I'm disappointed, this is a pricey beer and I paid good money for it but I found it quite underwhelming. At least it has potential as a complement to food... but on it's own - as a beer - I'm not impressed.

Pours amber in color. Smells sweet and slightly malty. Looks and smells similar to a marzen.

Caramel malt dominates the flavor with some earthy and tea-like notes lingering. Actually, the more I get into it, the more it seems like a total caramel malt beer. Mild bread, but mainly this reminds me of a marzen.

Good body, strong carbonation, overall a good beer. I'm just not sure it's that true to style here.

My first impression of this beer was that it tasted like a home brew. Not that I'm an expert, but it has a great malt taste with some yeasty qualities and a bit of sweetness with some earthy tones. It just seemed to me that this is what a talented brewer would brew in their kitchen for their own every day consumption. That was a couple of years ago, and I still enjoy revisiting it on occasion. It pleases many tastes and goes well with simple rustic foods.

Pours a coppery reddish color with ivory colored head. Caramel malt, some bread, yeast, and herbal tones on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with mostly malt.

Amber color, off white head, some lacing. Malty pilsner smell with some hop presence, stone fruit aromas from the yeast. Malty taste with slight farmhouse/brett character, funky without being barnyard or horsey, yeast provides some stone fruit qualities. Typical body, rather crisp finish. Would drink again.

Poured 12oz bottle into glass. Color is amber with a 2 finger khaki head. Decent retention and spotty lacing. Aroma is malty with a slight floral scent from noble hops. Flavor is on the sweeter maltier side with minimal hops. Not too exciting, but good flavor. Lighter body with nice carbonation. Simple beer that I would like some oak or must in along with the hops. .

Wasn't expecting this to be half as delicious as it was. Fruity, crisp and delicious sweet aftertaste - very reminiscent of a wine, actually. I'm not a big wine drinker, so this was like wine improved for me! "Great burp" like someone else said, haha! I'm normally in pursuit of syrupy coffee, chocolatey stouts yet this ale packed a great punch AND was easy to finish with a (bbq) meal. Looking forward to trying this out of the bottle.
