12oz bottle bb 3/10/18 poured into a tulip pint glass at fridge temp 5.9% ABV 24 IBU. The beer pours bright light reddish amber with minimal khaki head. The head recedes to a thin ring with no lacing or cap. The aroma is beery with a faint bready smell. The taste is semisweet caramel up front that slowly tapers off to less sweet caramel, but remains a little wet and sticky. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, lowly carbonated and slick. Overall, confused. This is my first beer de garde, and I don't know if it's supposed to be flat, sticky sweet and caramelly. I wouldn't drink it again for pleasure though.

Pours with very little head, but it does stick. Nice caramel color and fairly predictable smell. Some very light, sweet caramel notes that finishes with a bit of bitterness. Fairly refreshing on a hot summer day, but nothing mind-blowing.

A fine example of what is probably my favorite style to reach for when I just feel like having a beer. That is to say, it's very balanced: rich, sweet maltiness with just enough hops to clean up the palate. Yeasty funk isn't too in-your-face but keeps things complex. As it warms up, you definitely start to get more of the "farmhouse" notes.

Beautiful copper color makes it almost as nice to pour and hold as it is to drink!

Poured out of a 12 oz. bottle into one of my tulip glasses, this beer pours a very clear, medium to deep amber copper color with lots of streams of little bubbles fairly rapidly and continuously rising to the beer's surface. Has a nice white head that's about an inch thick when first poured that eventually settles to fluffy surface coating of foam, a medium sized to thick ring lining the inside of the glass, and good lacing. Aromas of somewhat toasted malts along with slightly peppery and flower/herbal notes, a slight hint of funk, and a bit of earthy, floral hops. The taste is pretty much the same, with somewhat toasted, malt sweetness along with some peppery spice notes and a flowery/herbal presence. This is followed by a hint of barnyard funk and a bit of earthy, floral hops that add just a touch of bitterness. A very well rounded flavor profile here overall. Has a crisp, slightly prickly, slightly chewy and sticky, yet also decently smooth and creamy, medium to full bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Quite an enjoyable beer all around here.

Poured from 12 oz bottle to snifter.

A: Light amber, with no discernible head.
S: Caramel, rum, strawberry and light citrus, raisin.
T: Sweetness upfront, with vanilla and rum like flavors in the middle of the palate.
M: Light side of medium.
O: Didn't really know what to expect. Alright, I suppose.
