Dry, but with a creamy touch of Thai Palm Sugar and the spicy tang of Rye, all balanced by loads of the wackiest new Hops we could lay our hands on. Yep, it’s an Orignal. And that’s no Sin.

Poured 7ozs into my duvel tulip. The beer pours a clear mahogany brown with no head (unless vigorously shaken). The nose is candy sweet malt with almost no hops or spice. The taste is intensely sweet with a subtle pine hoppiness and slight rye spice. This is not the beer I expected. The mouthfeel is sweet with a slight bite from the hops/rye. It's smooth and drinkable, but really nothing special. Overall I think this beer is worth sampling at a brewfest, but not a top 10 rye...

poured into a tulip glass.

best by date of 11/09/12.

Appearance: light brown bodied beer with an amber hue when held to light. One and a half finger of off white head.

Smell: The rye malts cut right through the hops with a litely spiced note. Caramel malt profile. Hops are herbal.

Taste: The rye malts are the big player in this beer. The malts taste like a rye bread drizzeled with a caramel syrup imparting a mild sweetness of malts with a spicy rye kick. Herbal and peppery hops with a touch of pine. low end of moderate bitterness from the hops.

Mouthfeel: low end of a medium bodied beer. Moderately carbonated. Its got a little bit of creaminess to the body, but not overly so.

Overall: If you like rye beers this is one to look for in the great lakes beer region. Its good beer from chicago!

The color is gorgeous like a copper beauty shiny from a healthy application of massage oil. The malt and sweetness flirt hard with the spice of the rye and bitterness of the hops. It’s no surprise these two hook up for an orgy of deliciousness that results in a simultaneous orgasm that leaves you gasping for air and dreaming of your next sip.

A - Dark amber color with a thick foam that laces in tan clumps.

S - Strong scent of spicy rye hits the nose. This is about as robust a rye beer has smelled. There is also a lingering smell of earthy hops in the background.

T - Fresh blast of rye and spicy herbs. The base of this beer is quite malty. Overall is comes off as a rich, full-flavored rye beer.

M - Easily sessionable, and with a punch. The rye & spicy notes stay with you for a while.

O - Easily my favorite rye to date. If you are looking to pack some kick with comfort food, this is a great option. I would make an effort to get this again. Thankfully its readily available.

App- Almost like an amber color with only a small head to it. Decent cling but not much. A good density is there and allows a nice amount of light in. Tinges of brown in the center.

Smell- I enjoyed the aromatics on this beer. Had a decent of rye with a good amount of hippiness behind it and a full dose of malt on the nose.

Taste- A really good blend and balance on this. Glad I found a single bottle at the bar vs. a 6 pack to take home. A huge amount of rye and a nice creamy flavor with a touch of malt and pepper.

Mouth- A medium creamy body with a medium carbonation. Good rye residual flavors and a bit of pepper.

Drink- A good beer. Should've brought a 6 pk home but didn't have the room for 6 more beers. Want more.
