Chocolate caramel and coffee notes. Bit of an alcohol taste up front; more than I'd want. Not as full bodied as I thought by the ratings. There definitely could have been more coffee flavor. Decent beer but not a 90 rating.

Having been re-released after a 3 year hiatus, I can understand why enthusiasts for coffee-in-their-porter couldn't wait... and probably bugged Two Brothers for the re-release.
I give it special point for being in the extreme level, but still balanced. The malt is burnt, but not too much. The hops are their, but don't get in the way of tasting the malt. While perhaps a little thin in the mouth, the aftertaste proves that this has balance.

Poured from a 22oz bomber into a pint glass. Pours black with a foamy white tan head that lingers about a quarter inch thick. Smells of malt and dark fruit. Taste is similar with a coffee back end

poured 22oz bottle into snifter. Dark coffee brown with a 1.5 finger tan head. Excellent retention that leaves a fat collar and good amounts of lacing on my glass. Wafts of nice roasted coffee and dark chocolate are the biggest aromas. Hints of caramel and even some vanilla. It is a porter with superb coffee flavor and notes of caramel, vanilla that are blended back to the original coffee porter. Wonderful dark chocolate on the finish. Great carbonation for the style, smooth and creamy mouthfeel that is medium in body. This is very good with a wonderful coffee and chocolate flavor.

One of the better coffee beers--and porters in general--I've tried lately. Dark cola brown with one finger of creamy mocha head. smells like dark dark French roast with some underlying sweetness of molasses, vanilla, and toffee. Taste is mild espresso with a splash of hazlenut creamer. Dark and roasty, but well balanced with the sweetness. The mouthfeel really makes this one for me. Not heavy, but smooth and creamy. Plenty of dark roasty flavors, but manages to avoid that burnt coffee bitterness that sometimes turns me off in coffee beers. Will definitely grab another bottle asap.
