A= Pours a pretty hazy orange color with a nice thick finger of off white head on it that holds great retention and lacing on the glass.

S= Smells strongly of hops of course with pine and citrus characters. I feel like I'm smelling a little rye or some other unique malt not usually found in an IPA.

T= The taste is again a strong hop character up front and some unique malt character to back it up. A nice pine and citrus character with some roast or rye or something to back it up. Something I can't put my finger on. There is a little bit of sweetness to follow up in the back.

M= The mouth is solid for an IPA.

O= This is a nice IPA. It's a little malty but not bad. It is actually one of the only IPAs I've found with a strong malt character that I actually enjoy. Worth trying and I'll likely actually be buying it again.

Poured from a 12 oz. can into a chalice.

A: Slightly hazy, light amber color with over one finger of parchment-tinted foam head. Medium lacing remains on the glass.

S: Grain is caramelized and husky, while hops are piney with some lesser semi-dark citrus. Other mixed fruit qualities reinforce heartiness of the malt.

T: Begins very off-dry, with chewy caramel malt and equally robust hop aromatics that match the smell well. Acidity is mild into the middle where citrus qualities darken before bitterness is quick to replace other hop-derived flavors. Bitterness becomes pronounced by the finish, where a mineral edge is detected.

M: Medium viscosity, resinous and slightly syrupy on the palate, with moderate carbonation.

D/O: This beer's qualities are intense for its strength--it's 6.3% abv (as listed on the package) is the only feature that clearly separates it from the majority of beers from Lagunitas or Oskar Blues. As an IPA it is rather unremarkable, although the smell and flavor are closely tied.

Poured from a 12oz can into a Brooklyn tulip.

A: Pours a straight brass with a minimal white head.

S: Soft caramel malts and not much else.

T: Nice dose of piney bitterness followed by a big malt backing. Caramel, fresh bread, a bit of citrus rind, pleasant grain in the finish. Crisp and dry.

M: Small tingly carbonation, medium-bodied.

O: Crisp and refreshing, but not great.
