Served in a snifter at Two Brothers Tap House 2/17/11.

Was told by the server that this is a small batch of Northwind brewed with cocoa nibs.

A: Served a dirty, sludgy, brownish-black color. A tiny, dark-khaki colored wafer of foam hung around on top for a while before disappearing completely.

S: Obvious chocolate influence here. Loads of dark chocolate, cocoa, and dark fruit with a tiny whiff of solvent alcohol.

T: See above.

M: Very sticky with a nice alcoholic astringency. Elements of sweet, dry, and bitter.

D: I really liked this version of Northwind. I haven't really been much of a fan of Northwind out of the bottle for a few years now, but this would be an interesting experimant to brew a bigger batch to bottle and/or send kegs out to their draft accounts.
