This beer was lucky to get a 3 from me........just way too bitter for a red beer. Smells malty and sweet so I was a bit excited, but just couldn't get past all the bitterness in this beer. Disappointed.

Super fresh. One day off the line and into my snifter. Pours a ruby reddish hue with a decent amount of head retention. Not much lacing to speak of as the head dies down. Smells exactly like I would expect an imperial red to smell...malty. Some pineyness pulls through, but mainly just malt sweetness. The flavor is not what I expected. A lot of hoppy bitterness, piney, resin, some citrus, and on the back end lies that sweet malt flavor that is so pronounced in the smell. This is a great tasting beer and now I see it's 124 IBUs., packed with hoppy bitterness. One of the best imperial reds I've had, and at 9.5% you'd never know how strong this beer is until you've finished it. Absolutely will be drinking again. Cheers!

Lot 3374 ( put a damn date on it) pours an effervescent orange/auburn color with 3 fingers of cream colored head. Through the roof lacing & head retention

S: Rich toastyness, not much else, faint hints of citrus. Pineyness picks up as this warms

T: Follows the nose, a little dryness, brown sugar, ghost boozeyness, leafy & herbal hops. A little resiny pine, grapefruit rind, dryness, toastyness & brown sugar all come through as this warms. Finishes dry, sweet, with a little resiny

MF: Starts out thickish, then settles into medium body as this warms. Carbonation seems subtle then turns creamy as it warms; nice balance

Drinks fairly easy for the heft, seems way more balanced than the touted 124 IBU. Another winner from Two Brothers

Picked up a couple of singles from the Craft Beer Hop Stop in North Phoenix for $2.49 each. Part of Lot 3374.

Beer poured amber brown with a nice white head that is leaving lacing behind.

Nose is citrus hops, quite nice.

Taste is citrus, mango, peach with a touch of pine balanced nicely by a caramel malt backbone.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth.

Overall I am liking how the mango and peach linger nicely after each sip. I thought 124 ibu's would be over the top but given this beer is likely born in December it may have mellowed and melded a bit over time. Glad Two Brothers has entered the Arizona market!
