My first Pumpkin Ale of the night.

Pours a hazy reddish copper color with a one finger head that has settled to a very thin and spotty lace after a few minutes. Leaves behind very little head retention.

The spices come through pretty well in the aroma complementing the sweet malty smell.

Taste...Smooth with a good amount of spice. Not so much, as to were they linger on your palate though.

The carbonation is sitting on the low side, which is good so as to not get in the way of the pumpkin and spices. Medium body.

I could easily sip on this beer for the evening, but I won't be considering I have an abundance of other Pumpkin Ales to sample.

Morey's Bottom Line: A pretty good tasting beer actually. The appearance is kind of lackluster (I'm half way through, and there no head or lacing to be seen), but they make up for it in taste. Worth a try for sure. Cheers.

Poured into a 22.oz standered beer mug. 6- pack bought at local beer store for 7.19 +tax. ABV is 6.0%.

Apperence- Poures a burnt orange color, fluffy 2 finger tan head.

Smell- Smell is of pumpkin for the most part, I do detect some of the excepted spices such as nutmeg and cinnamon.

Taste- Mix up of Pumpkin, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, vanilla, I think their is a little bit of a waxy taste to it but not too much that makes it bad in any way. I do taste a tiny bit of alcohol but not much.

Mouthfeel- A little thin, I was expecting more creamy, but its not bad at all.

Drinkabilty- A nice drinkable pumpkin ale, you can taste a little alcohol like I said, but for the most part the sweetness hides it.

Overall I like this beer, its not the best Pumpkin ale I have had but by far not the worst. I do think it has a earthy pumpkin taste to it and the pie taste in most pumpkin beers are more mild but its still a good drink for Halloween time.

Bottle from abe's cold beer.

Pours a light amber body with very little head. Smells very natural and like real pumpkin and not chemicals. Tastes the same. I can respect this beer. Very tasty and easy to drink. Pretty good pumpkin ale. The booze is a bit forward and not quite as fresh pumpkin tasting as I would like. Still decent thought just being picky. Doesn't quite make the list.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into my Koningshoeven snifter. Pours a ruby reddish and hazy color. Very little to no head, looks like it pushes hard through the last of the pour but never amounts to anything worth mentioning.

Aroma is very inviting and warm. Fills the room with nutmeg and cinnamon. A closer smell, very strong pumpkin notes. Over all, nice and spicey!

Flavor is a little bit of a let down. Almost tastes watered down compared to the aroma. 6% abv...just like you would expect. Not much booze detected. Carbonation is very high. As the beer warms up, the spices get a little stronger and more pronounced. Nutmeg, clove...less pumpkin taste then smell. A bit of a tart aftertaste.

Overall light and crisp...a decent pumpkin beer.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into my standard shaker glass. The ale appears a clear copper color with an inch of creamy light tan foam. Nose and flavors consist of cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, toasted grains, some sweet malt. Your usual pumpkin ale spice profile, but a tad muted. No real pumpkin notes to speak of. Light bodied with a decent carbonation level. If you must hit every pumpkin beer, give it a go.

On tap at The Institute as part of their "Pumpkin Patch" event...

Ever so slightly hazy gold color. Frothy, full head. To be honest, it has a smell of an adujunct brewed beer with a slight twang to it. Faint hints of pumpkin pie spices. For flavor, the pie spices are more notable, but still get lost behind what i can best describe as a lager like bite. No pumpkin. Thin, watery, over carbonated. Not what i was hoping for.

Appearance: A rich amber color with little head that is slightly carbonated. Has a decent amount of orange as well.

Smell: Spices are definitely present as is a slight sweetness.

Taste: The spices definitely kick through with only hints of a pumpkin but definitely there. Ginger and cinnamon are the most apparent flavors. It's not quite as strong as I would like but very identifiable.

Mouthfeel: Strong carbonation yet smooth.

Drinkability: If the beer wasn't quite as carbonated then I could easily drink it for a whole night. The spices are a bit too subtle but its better then some pumpkin beers I've had where the spice is way to powerful. However given what it is, its honestly not a bad pumpkin ale. Not the best or most special but not bad.

Pours a nice deep orange color with a nice amount of head, but just a bit of lacing. Nice crisp scent, malts come in, but under a strong pumpkin pie spice aroma. Good taste, nice and clean up front, but then has an odd off taste at the end, although this is more of a brewery attribute I've noticed with WG. Goes down quite nice otherwise.

Live review. Poured into my DFH pint glass from a 12 oz. bottle purchased as part of a "mix" 12 pack by my brother. I traded him something for it and the other 4 beers from the pack. For what it is worth, this Pumpkin Patch Ale was the "bonus" beer in the mix pack.

A Real basic medium orange translucent body with brown overtones under a surprisingly creamy head. No lacing. 3.0

S The label mentions that pumpkin was used in the brewing process (as well as spices). I get the spices but they are kind of cheap, basic "harvest" spices but I struggle to get any pumpkin to the nose. There is a faint sweet smell though and a whole lot of barley malt. 2.5

T Well the spices are certainly there and they are not unpleasant but again I struggle to taste the pumpkin. The taste reminds me a bit of the taste in your mouth when you sitting around a campfire. It is a bit smokey but mostly you get an "earthy" taste. 3.0

M Much thinner than I would like, the head was not suggestive of that thinness either. 2.0

D Fine I guess. The label mentions that it is 6.0% ABV and IBU:28. I think that the ABV is pretty well hidden. For that I will bump the drinkability up a bit. 3.5

Notes: Rather forgettable Pumpkin Ale (but then they cannot all be Southern Tier Pumking I guess).

A- Poured into a 16oz tumbler... thin white fizzy head. Nice amber color with medium activity

S- Nice pumpkin aroma, maybe some cinnamon and ginger in there... very nice

T- Delicious. Very smooth and pumpkiny with noticeable flavor from the spices. Just the right amount cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg to compliment the pumpkin flavor

M- Very smooth and light bodied. Very refreshing with light carbonation

D- Recently some debate on what exactly drinkability is... well yes I think it is an easy to drink beer, and yes I would drink another

CHEERS!!

It pours a hazy orange amber color, nice off white head with little retension and what looks like a good amount of carbonation.
Smells like cinnamin, nutmeg and brown sugar, which really makes this smell sweetly of pie.

glug glug glug

A sweet mixture of the spices, which are light and balanced and have a creamy kind of taste. Nice malted balance at the end. Sweeter then I remember the Pumpkin ales of yore begining. The Weyerbacher had tons more spices if I remember. I like this pie like sweetness and that the spices are kept in check. A good intro into the style and a slightly different stripe of pumpkin ale, not too spicy and just sweet enough.

Bottle courtesy of seanpachefddfa, thanks again!

Pours a bright and clear copper color with a decent head.

Aromas are of sweet pumpkins, nutmeg, and cinnamon.

Taste is of sweeter than expected, creamy, with pumpkin spices. Beer has a crisp light malt flavor, with a sugary and thick feeling finish. This beer actually tastes like it has a decent amount of alcohol for the style.

Mouthfeel is nice, pretty thick and full.

Drinkability is not bad. It's a pretty good pumpkin ale. A bit strong, and little too sweet, but definitely decent.

A - Clear, high carbonation visible, orange-ish-brown in color. No lacing.

S - Cooked vegetables, pumpkin, a bit of malty sweetness. No spices really.

T - Strong pumpkin flavors, a touch of maltiness, a mild grassy hop, nutmeg. Finish turns potently bitter which clashes with the nutmeg.

M - Carbonation too high, thick, frothy, surprisingly refreshing (in spite of the bitterness and thickness.

D - Not too bad. Lacking depth - it is a pumpkin ale that actually capture the flavor of the squash instead of the spices.

My favorite pumpkin ale to date.

Most pumkin ales that I've had go for the spice and load it up. This beer did not. Although it did have a smooth spice flavor it focused more on the pumpkin aspect of the beer. It poured a clear brown color with a decent off white head. Smelled of malts, and slight pumpkin. The taste was just that, good smooth malt and nutty flavor with a real pumpkin flavor too. I honestly picked up some pumpkin pie in the taste. It went down smooth and I wanted more.

Appearance - A clear golden amber with a 1/2 ivory color head, doesn't last long, settling to a thin cap. A little lace
Smell - The spice is the first thing that comes out in the nose followed by the pumpkin.
Taste - The pumpkin flavor comes out more in the taste. The spice in this beer is just right it complement the pumpkin does not overpower it like in some pumpkin ales i have had.
Mouthfeel - A medium body with medium carbonation. very good
Drinkabiulity - One of the better pumpkin ales i have had.

Wild Goose- Pumpkin Patch

A- Nice clear dark golden orange with a small foamy head. No lacing.
S- Spicy (nutmeg) with vanilla and pumpkin.
T- Sweet nutmeg, vanilla, creamy pumpkin, and graham cracker with a caramalized malt body.
M- Spicy up front with a thick malty body. Just a bit watery though.

Overall- Pretty good, just needs a litle boost. Let this warm up a bit.

The bottle says this beer uses 300 lbs of pumpkin and I believe it. Once this gets a little time to warm up, the pumpkin meat comes out in the aroma and flavor. The beer tastes like a lightly roasted amber with a big pumpkin infusion and a little citrus hops around the edges.

A= very nice, slightly hazy dark pumpkin-brown with a modest whitish-brown head.

S= Pumpkin and nutmeg, cinnamon and maybe ginger. Let it warm a little and it'll be more intense.

T= Old-country pumpkin-pie flavor but not overwhelming on the pumpkin. Light bitters, nice spices, slightly buttery.

M= feels great, nothing obtrusive, a lingering memory of ma's old country pumpkin-pie at holidays.

D= since this is more of a curiosity or specialty beer, I could have maybe 1-2 but would quickly want to switch to something a bit less pumpkin-pie, just like I wouldn't eat pie all night.
