From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter. This solid nut brown pours a clear
dark brown with red highlights and a nice head of off white foam that subsides
to a thick ring, thin light pool, and shows light soapy lacing. Nose of toasted malts
and a hint of chocolate and light breaded malts. Flavors lightly exceed the nose with
balanced toffee and chocolate notes with a hint of coffee on the rear with light breaded
malt flavors and subtle herbal hops. Nice mouth feel; medium body, medium
carbonation, and a lightly dry subtly sweet finish.

Overall a solid brown ale and one I must give thanks
to a friend from work who brought it in for me---Thanks Randy!

Cheers

Nice looking brown ale, dk brown, off white head which retains.

not much on the nose, malts are prevalent.

Has a decent sweetness to it, and a bit of a bite in the finish.

mouth was medium.

All in all, an ok representation of an English Brown Ale.

Really nice brown ale. Beautiful dark brown hue. Smells a little yeasty. Well balanced to my palate with neither the malt not the hops overwhelming the flavor. Again a little bit of the yeasty flavor coming through.

Refrigerated 12 oz bottle dated notched with a BB date of Nov. 2015.

Clear medium brown body; some sediment from the bottom of the bottle added mid-tasting.

Mild but pleasant aroma with borwn bread and toffee dominating. The flavor is even milder, with a near equal bitter/sweet balance.

Near medium body with low carbonation.

A - Nice light, clear brown.
S - Just like any other brown ale.
T - This is where the beer shines. Excellent taste. Nutty, not too sweet, and very drinkable. I have had this beer several times now, it is best on draft. Goes well many things but especially red meats and pasta.
F - Very light and drinkable.
O - Probably the best nut brown I have had. Blackstone has some great beers and I think this one is the best. Much better than Newcastle, which I suppose is the one everyone has had.

Pretty decent brown ale over all. Didn't know what to expect from this brewery because I had never seen or heard of the. I must say I was pleasantly surprised.
