On-tap at Cole's. Regular tap, although brewer recommends this at nitro. Dark brown body with brown head. Big cherry extaract aromas. The cherr is not rea cherry taste at all, from someone who drinks organic cherry juice daily. The chocolate is syrup pured in. Thinnish, fairly weak for an imperial stout.

Had on nitro tap at John Harvard's at Holiday Valley.Came in a standard pint glass a deep cola color with a cascading creamy light beige head atop.Aromas of chocolate and tart cherries with a little coffee roast.A great mix of chocolate and sweet and mildly tart cherries on the palate, the nitro creamy feel just bumps it up another notch.Easily the best beer I have had from EVL.

I tried this on tap at Peachtree Family Restaurant

The appearance is okay -black opaque but no head retention with faint brown hue at the base of the glass. The smell is fruity with slight dark cherry and slight roasted aroma. The feel is tangy with lots of cherry acidity up front with mild roast and semi-sweet body with light feel for the style.

The taste is more cherry than chocolate with slight cocoa flavor after the dark cherry quality recedes a little bit sweet in the taste with mild roasted character and semi-dry as it finishes with subtle alcohol. Overall I thought this was okay and nothing to detract from this except perhaps it could use more roast character and lacks head retention -worth a try.

On tap at The Old Toad in Rochester, NY.

Pours a dark, dark black, with a half inch head, and a good amount of lacing.

Smells pretty nice, tons and tons of chocolate, really a chocolate bomb here. There's a bit of sweet cherry in the background too.

This luckily refrains from being too sweet, as I feared it might. There's ton of chocolate, both sweet and bitter, I get both sweet Hershey's syrup and rich, dark bitter chocolate, along with some sweet cherry juice. This came pretty cold off the tap- at first, the cherry flavor seemed pretty natural, sweet, and juicy, but as the beer warmed, the cherry flavor started to feel a little artificial, unfortunately. Still good, but not as good as it was earlier.

This is pretty thick bodied, and really full and creamy, mouthfeel-wise. There's a lower level of carbonation.

This was a lot better than I expected. The cherry got slightly fake as I went along, but it was still a well crafted stout in and of itself to begin with.

Bought at Clark's Ale House 12/29/09

The beer pours a pitch black color with a 1/2" tan head that quickly fades to lacing. The aroma is decent. It has a stiff chocolate smell up front with a mild cherry aroma as well. It's a bit sweet with not much black malt earthiness. The taste is decent as well. It has a big chocolate flavor up front. It almost seems too chocolatey. It's overly sweet with not enough patent malt balance. The cherry character is subdued and is mild at best. The whole beer is really way too over the top. The mouthfeel is average. It is a full bodied beer with too little carbonation. This is a potentially really good beer. It needs more CO2 right away. It was borderline flat at the time I sampled it and I just purchased it an hour prior.

Pours opaque, dark brown in color with 1/4 inch head. Taste is roasted malt, dark chocolate, cocoa, and slight tart dark cherries as the beer warms. Wish there was more of a cherry presence, but this one still makes for a nice dessert beer. Unsure if I would get it again though.
