After visiting the brewery, 12/28/22, we brought this one home to try on the same day.
A clear mahogany in the glass. Light head
Not much aroma on this one. Can get a light roastiness and a little cocoa.
Bright in the mouth, a nice zing at first. Bitter cocoa and roasted coffee. A good different porter.

There is something about this beer I just don't like.
It doesn't seem to mesh well.
Too hoppy probably.

Look- dark brown liquid that's ruby-hued around the edges of the glass, nice fluffy head that recedes very slowly, leaving about a half finger; sheets of lacing
Smell- bakers chocolate, roasty char, something vaguely fruity, like berries
Taste- bitter roasty char and chocolate up front followed by a mild fruity note which comes off more citrus-like in the flavor
Feel- medium-bodied with above average carbonation, finishes semi-dry with lingering mild bitterness
Overall- this is a nice take on an a porter with classic roasty and chocolate notes accompanied by mildly fruity hops

Deep mahogany brown in color with good clarity. Poured with a tall, dense, rocky, light tan foam with excellent retention. Grainy and sweet dark malt aromas with light roasted notes and a hint of dark chocolate. On the lighter side of medium bodied with soft, medium high carbonation with light smoothness through the middle. Grainy, dark malt flavors up front followed by medium bitterness and dark roasted malt flavors through the middle. Roasted and dark malt flavors persist from to the end. Finished with a lingering bitter roasted malt aftertaste. Beautiful appearance. Malt flavor and aroma was on the grainy side. Generally, the malt character was a little low for the style. Feel was on the thin side.

Once. Year brew and it’s worth the wait. Solid porter. Pitch blacked with lacing that hangs around but not much of a head. Roast and toasty smell as well as a taste feel. Malty(ish) for me and that was fine. Nicely heavy and not particularly smooth but raspy. I liked that. an OK aftertaste. Fine brew from a fun brewery.

The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a one finger white to off white foamy head that dissipates within about a minute and leaves a decent amount of foamy lacing. The smell was roasty and bitter coffee pervading through some light caramel, chocolate and oatmeal. The taste took those flavors and combined it wonderfully. There was a nice bitter coffee aftertaste that ended up leaving a dry finish. On the palate, it sat about a medium on the body with a quality that wanted to show a decent sessionability but kinda made me sip it. The carbonation was good for the style and for me as it was slightly smooth and creamy. Overall, I say this was a good American Porter well worthy of having again.
