Served on-tap in the Tröegs tasting room

A - Pours dark brown, bordering on black, with a small half finger tall off-white head leaving streaky lacing down the glass.

S - Smells of dark roasted malt, chocolate, cream, and lots of hops. Good balance of dark roast and hops. This has to be one of the hoppiest porters out there.

T - Starts off with lots of dark roasted malt quickly giving way to a mix of light chocolate sweetness and lots of citric hops. The roast and hops are very well balanced. The finish is a mix of dark roast and hop bitterness, lingering for some time.

M - Medium-Heavy body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Roasty, hoppy, feel that lingers on the pallet for some time after the finish.

O - I have always liked this one. It has good balance of flavors and is quite easy to drink. It is nothing mind blowing but it doesn't have to be. Another solid offering from Tröegs.

Pours a very dark brown color with a finger of tanned head. Nose has a very hoppy aroma upfront and towards the end you can pick up on some chocolate/coffee notes. Taste has a nice hop bitterness but also has a more mellow bitterness that seems to come from the burnt grains. Lightly tasting some chocolate/coffee in it as well. Definitely a higher hopped porter than what I am use to but regardless equally enjoyable. Quite a bit of lace left even though the head didn't have lasting retension. Finish of this beer is both bitter and warming with a medium feel.

Poured from a growler (Skibbo) into a pint glass.

A - Poured black with a thick head of tan foam.

S - Malty with and smokey. A good amount of strong dark coffee and a little chocolate.

T - Much of the same. Finishes off with a nice hop bitterness.

MF&D - Another good brew from Troegs.
