Brewed by:
Tröegs Brewing Company
Pennsylvania, United States

Style: Hefeweizen

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 4.80%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
The dream begins with open top fermentation. At high krausen a foamy, rocky yeast head crests the sides of the fermenter releasing notes of black pepper and spicy clove. Unfiltered and cloudy with yeast, it's slightly tart & downright refreshing.

This brew pours a cloudy golden color with a small head which does not stick around long and minimal lacing.

The smell is of yeast, wheat, lemon, orange, banana, lemon grass and spice, I believe coriander.

The taste is the same as the smell, there is wheat, yeast, then lemon, then a grassy taste. An orange and bannana bread like taste along with spice, (coriander?) on the back end. Everything mixes together nicely.

The mouthfeel is clean and crisp, just slightly bready and chewy.

Overall this is a great Hefeweizen. It is everything a Hefeweizen should be and then some. It can't be beat on a hot summer day.

Appearance: Golden color, one cream color head that had good retention, very nice lacing. Actually looked sort of picture perfect in the glass.

Smell: Wheat, Sweet Grains, bready yeast, banana, grassy, lemon, coriander, and some good funkiness.

Taste: Wheat, bready yeasty, banana, lemon, grassy, coriander, some spicy note like light clove or something. A light bite of hops is in there. Light-medium body. Nice carb.

Final Thoughts: Solid brew. Can't complain at all, would buy again.

Reviewed from notes;
Pours into pint glass a yellow orange color with little head that reduces down to a nice bubbly lace.
Smells strong of yeast and wheat.
Mouthfeel/Taste; Crisp with an interesting mingle of both wheat & yeast that unfortunately ends too quickly for my liking but finishes dry and clean.
Overall an easy drinkin' hefeweizen that would be great on a hot day and throughout a summer session.
