Style: Hefeweizen

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 4.80%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
The dream begins with open top fermentation. At high krausen a foamy, rocky yeast head crests the sides of the fermenter releasing notes of black pepper and spicy clove. Unfiltered and cloudy with yeast, it's slightly tart & downright refreshing.

Poured with yeast roused from a bottle into a weizen glass.

Overall: A fine hefeweizen with all the characteristics you'd expect.

Look: golden and cloudy with a one-finger head and fair amount of lacing.
Smell: characteristic ripe banana, clove, and tart funk.
Taste: somewhat tart and phenolic, some banana and spice wafts up, and a hint of bubblegum upon swallowing.
Feel: bites the tongue, fairly light and smooth.

Straw yellow, but the cloudiness is nice. Smells and tastes too heavily of banana and clove. The grain and any hopping are barely noticeable. Good full body, smooth on the tongue.

What jumps out at me with this beer is the spicy notes that I don't typically associate with a wheat beer. It's very pleasant and very refreshing to come across something like this, and aside from that little bit of spice, you're still looking at a solid wheat beer. Very good.

Nice bouquet of pepper and yeast, and clove. Cloudy, unfiltered...aftertaste of rubber or burnt plastic. A pretty good beer, not one to write home about though.

Look - clear gold with a two-finger white head that has decent retention and spotty lacing.
Smell - clove, banana, honey, and I'm getting a strong bubble gum note as well. I really like the aroma on this beer.
Taste - pretty much follows the nose. This has a lot of layers that blend really well together. You get the spicy clove along with the sweet banana and honey, but it is rounded out with a clean bubble gum note. All three dimensions linger in the aftertaste.
Feel - high carbonation, medium body, crisp and dry finish.
