Pint served on tap at Harvest Restaurant in Glen Mills,PA. Nice looking Amber color with a small head. Very cold. Nice hoppy taste with citrus hints and slight malt aftertaste. Not remarkable but a decent ale.

Pours a clear very light golden with a full one finger white head that takes it's sweet time settling, pretty impressive looking.Citrus and grassy hops stand out most in the nose, mild caramel underneath.Pretty dry and crisp on the palate with some citric hops showing thru, only a hint of caramel shows thru giving it a tiny amount of sweetness. Not a bad little pale here, dry and crisp, something to take on the frolf course or to a social gathering.

12 oz bottle, couldnt find any freshness info

Pours a shade of lighter straw amber amber, near clear, light khaki head, leaves fine strands of lacing.

Earthy and hopped up nose

Pleasant enough ale, grainy hops doing the heavy lifting. Also some light fruity/citric notes, caramel malts on the underbully...easy drinking, decent, every day kinda brwe, nothing amazing

L - Lighter color than I would have thought. Dark straw color.

S - Smells similar to SNPA but maybe a little less pine and some more citrus. Extremely neutral in the best way possible. Balanced and full of grapefruit, pine, orange peel and lightly toasted malt. Exactly what you should expect from a pale ale.

T - Woah, this was good. Cascade hops really shone through and I found it very even keeled. Extremely drinkable and refreshing. I like that the citrus was more prominent than the pine but that is just a personal preference.

F - Medium to medium high carbonation. Really smooth and there is no "bite here" goes down quick. If they brewed this recipe with some oat in it...I'd destroy it.

O - Great beer and surprisingly my favorite that I had at the brewery.

DATE: December 14, 2017... OCCASION: just returned from Michael's triumphant basketball start... GLASSWARE: Howard's Pub pint... pours a clear, golden body with a creamy, half-finger head... light, crispy malts begin the profile, with a light, aromatic flower and soft hops... lemon, thyme, pepper, vanilla, and some bitter elements suggest a pale ale with character.... lively, malt-forward body that holds to the throat... white head laces the glass neatly... a medium-bodied ale, passing amicably from teeth to throat... caramel, floral hints, light biscuit and barley, lemon, mountain laurels, honey, and a sweet finish... nothing derogatory to say about this beer, as it accomplishes what it attempts--to be a serviceable, pleasing pale that is not unlike other Troegs offerings...

I hate to over-simplify it but this inviting looking Pale Ale just doesn't cut it. Too many spices contradict one another as the bitter bite hits your taste buds.

I scoured my local beer retailers in hopes of finding some more Troegs Blizzard of Hops, but to no avail. So, I settled on Solid Sender

There is no balance to the flavor profile of this beer & I am not only bitterly (no pun intended ) disappointed in Troegs for this lack-luster offering, I am going to have to proclaim that I hope & wish they stop making it & instead ramp back up with some Blizzard of Hops which dominated this Holiday Season far and away as my absolute favorite IPA.

Solid Sender is flat out awful & too complicated for its own good. Troegs is better than this!

Tröegs Brewing Co. "Solid Sender Ale"
12 oz. brown glass bottle, no apparent freshness dating

Solid Sender is a hop-forward American pale ale that utilizes Mosaic hops (notes of tropical, citrus, and berry fruit) in addition to the usual Cascade hops (grapefruit/citrus, floral) that generally make up APAs, and which Sierra Nevada used in their flagship "pale ale" which started it all.

Not unlike Sierra Nevada, it also utilizes a delicate golden malt base that's biscuity and just lightly golden-caramel in character so as to let the hops shine - as opposed to a darker, richer caramel malt base where the hops can blend with the malts, or need to compete.

It's bright and refreshing, and slightly sharp or 'raspy' with citrusy fruit and an edge of hop acidity. The bitterness is solid but not overdone, and it finishes dry with lingering floral and citrusy notes. In the end, however, it's not quite as nicely balanced as it could be, which hurts it - unless, of course, you're looking for hops that lean in the more aggressively hopped IPA tradition. To call this a session IPA or something like that would be wrong though, as it's clearly intended to be a mainstay pale ale.

Clear golden color with slightly off-white head. Aroma has herbal hops, resin and caramel malts. Taste starts with orange flavor followed by the earthy/grassy hops. Finish has medium to low resiny bitterness. Medium body with crisp carbonation. Overall it's an easy drinking pale ale with lower bitterness but nice hoppy flavors.
