Hunting the fields during hop harvest, we were stopped in our tracks by the otherworldly lemon notes of a hop called Lemondrop. We just had to build a beer around it. Our HopCyclone circulates Lemondrop’s citrusy oils throughout Golden Thing, and dry-hopping with Lemondrop and Centennial leads to juicy layers of fresh lemonade, pinesap, and sweet citrus.

A - Medium gold pour with a beautiful clarity and thick white lacing. Nice steady carbonation.
S - Sticky, resiny lemon and bright citrus on the nose.
T - Sticky pine, resiny lemons, lemon rind, traces of peppery spice, grapefruit, and a lingering sappy pine bitterness on the finish. There's a slight bit of alcohol popping out at the very end.
M - Full, thick, viscous body with a dry finish and a little bit of lingering alcohol.
O - An interesting beer using Lemondrop hops. Pretty one dimensional.

Ok, the bud was awesome, this "beer" not so much. If you wanted to guarantee no action with your date, this your beer. Reminicent of an unflushed urinal AND the taste that makes you regret the purchase! If you are looking to pass out on beer, solid 8, taste a weak 3! Overall, Not 1 I will buy again!

Another hit from PA. A good (although strong) IPA. However this is different...less bitter. Oddly from the can the aftertaste was nearly non-existent. Overall very good and perhaps a second place to Troegs “Nimble Giant”.

Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a golden/orange color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of oranges, little else. Taste is of oranges, lemons, moderate bitterness. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer, but I was expecting more from this fine brewery.

Pours a clear golden color with a healthy foamy/creamy off white head. Smell lemons big time, pine, general citrus smell. Taste lemon predominately. This is a sweet lemonade tasting ale, with maybe some Kiwi backnotes. Feels well crafted. Ample carbonation, crisp and clean for an IPA. Finishes semi dry. For a DIPA the alcohol is well hidden. Overall not sure why this get just an 88. I think it deserves a higher score.

(16 oz can, freshest by 12/04/2019; purchased cold single... poured into fat tulip similar to that on its Troegs profile page)
L: mostly-clear, amber liquid, slight polyphenol/dry-hop haze; white, chunky foam on pour, little retention and, eventually, not even a collar remains, let alone much lace
S: pineapple, orange, citrus/tropical taffy (a la Starburst); little overt booze; delicate, worty pale malt undertone
T: much like the aromas, with a pithy, herbal back-end bitterness and spicy, lightly-peppery hop/booze finish... hops may be at mid-life: wet flower-petal flavor builds after first few sips - at best lovely leafy, dried grapefruit peel character to them
F: blankety-plush swell midway, with an extended resinous finish, delicately singed off by the soft rush of spice and ethanol in moments into the aft... lazy carbonation, but the balance of body, resins, and booze do give it sipper quality
O: aside from its suspect head formation, it's a nice drink, however, a popping-fresh version is needed for comparison... likely a good can-swiller; price was nice, so I could be tempted to pick up some more (1533)
