12 ounce bottle purchased individually from Whole Foods and poured into a Spiegelau stemmed Pilsner glass. This is my first experience with a beer from this brewery. I am a German Pilsener fan and I found this one to be quite good. Light, crisp and refreshing. That plus an ABV on the lower side of Pilsners makes it a good summer beer. Not a threat to Victory Prima Pils or Sierra Nevada Nooner, but definitely a beer I would drink again.

Pale yellow with a big white head and light lacing. Notes of unbaked dough, herbal, floral, light lemon, and grass. Light body with a crisp feel and a clean finish. Nothing fancy but a great Pilsner.

Body straw yellow, clear, some effervescence
Flavor slightly bitter, perhaps some grain; no malt, no alcohol, no diacetyl
Palate light, watery, lively carbonation

I'm no beer snob. These guys make great beer. I search out a great Pilsner or Lager as an alternative to an IPA. This is a good Pilsner. Maybe a little too light? Need to give it another try. For now good, not great.

Very pale, white head fades to a nice little cap. I smell crackers, grass, floral, lemon pepper. I taste biscuit, herbal hops, lemon. Simple and straightforward, very light and sessionable. Dryness and prickly carbonation make this easy to drink, very refreshing.

looks pale golden, transparent, a lot of big bubbles, more like a cava than a pils, 1/2 inch white head leaves lacing.
smell's biscuit, honey, hint of herbs, barely getting citrus/grapefruit
tastes like a well balanced pilsner, a little sharp/gapefruity up front and on the finish, but it is supposed to be a hoppy pilsner.
feels a little over-carbonated when sipped, this goes away and it feels very smooth by the mouthful, medium light, not watery
overall a very nice take on a classic pils, more citrussy hops makes it refreshing on a hot day, don't look for a really hoppy beer or be afraid it's not a pils.

Serving: Can, from the can
Served: 11 July 2015

Appearance: Had this one from the can, but I love the can artwork. Looks festive and summery which is great. I have a bottle in the fridge that I'm using to test the actual appearance, so I'll update when I get to it.

Smell: Biscuity lager notes definitely present in the nose, along with fresh-cut grass and a burst of herbal hops.

Taste: Fine herbal hoppiness present on the mid-body which gives the beer a nice burst of flavor without getting bogged down in lupulin goop. Exceedingly drinkable. Nice biscuity/white-bread malt backbone helps carry the beer down. Fantastic.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body with high carbonation makes this one a quaffer.

Overall: A magnificent US brewed pilsener. Still distinctively American, but not as out of line as other, hoppier versions of the style. Would highly recommend to South German pilsener fans along with lager fans in general. A great summer beer.

My craft lawnmower beer. Just an FYI I am a fan of this brewery. Nugget nectar. Mad elf etc. solid summer ale that I personally would drink year round. For there are times That are not summer you just want a good beer that is not hoppy or a stout or an ale loaded up 6 percent or higher.
This is a good solis pils from this brewery. And that's my review.

Great German pilsner, had it on tap served in the unfortunate choice of a shaker pint but that's all the bar had. Nice and dry, crisp finish as you'd expect, noble hop flavors and most importantly the bready malt base that distinguishes great pilsners from the rest of the lot. Not quite up to the level of the best true German pils but Tröegs really shows their dedication to Bavarian beers with this one, as they do with most of their lineup.

Review date 5-2-15. Pilsner glass. No bottle date.

Appearance: Pours a crystal clear straw color. 1 finger off-white head, fades quickly to thin foam. Steady stream of midsize bubbles. Very nice lacing.

Aroma: Some noble hops, very clean. A lighter touch on the aroma than some others in the style. (Take two, MLYP, Nooner).

Taste: Light, clean arrival. Clean pils malt across mid-palate leading into a beautiful floral noble hop finish.

Mouthfeel: On the lighter side of mid-weight. Good, solid carbonation, not overdone.

A perfectly refreshing pilsner. Definitely of the German, not Bohemian style. Less maltiness/breadiness. Eminently sessionable, and looks great in my glass. Not as hoppy as Nooner or as malty, but reminds me of Warsteiner. Will buy a 6er this summer.

Pours a clear pale gold with a thicker cap of sticky white head that leaves nice lacing. The aroma is lighter, but has nice grass and earthy hops up-front with a subtle biscuit note. The taste is good, but much more hop-forward at first, favoring the noble hops more than the malt. This balances out a little over time. The body is a little thicker, but not heavy, and there's a nice steady carbonation to it

Without a doubt my go to summer pils and love that this is now available in cans.

Clear straw color. A foamy, pillowy head dissipates to a thin, translucent cap. Typical pilsner taste up front with a hint of lemon and peppery noble hops. Afterward, a bold hop snap explodes. This is where SP transcends the typical pilsner. (Without offending the style). It leaves an oily, resinous taste on the tongue. Great American interpretation. This beer is bold, dynamic, and refreshing. Will buy again soon.

L - Very opaque goldish-yellow color; similar to that of champagne. Great head and good retention.
S - Smells of hops with faint floral aroma.
T - Not too complex, straightforward and enjoyable bitterness of hops.
F - Very light feeling beer. Little carbonation, can't really note.
O - Great choice for a light summer beer. Very drinkable and pairs well with most food flavors.

Been drinking a fair amount of pilsener lately and this is yet another good one. Pretty much what you would expect for the style, maybe a bit more hoppy than I prefer, but overall a very good beer.

Very nice hopped pils, with a good malt back. Smooth, not fizzy. Poured a golden yellow with a nice 1 inch head that stays, creamy feel and look. Very nice. No European malt flavor. American made and tastes. Too bad the big boys can't brew one like this.

Excellent craft American pilsner. Light, lemony, perfectly balanced, and uber drinkable. I find a beer of this sort
more enjoyable than the craze of session IPAs out there, and I am a devoted hophead....

A: Sunshine in a glass: pale yellow color, with a short white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace. A bit sudsier than other pilsners. 3.3

S: Pilsner aroma of light malts and bright, grassy hops. Kind of plain. 3.3

T: Taste is bready w light flavors of malty grain, layers w hop bitterness. The after-taste is slightly soapy, bready and slightly bitter. 3.3

M: Smooth and very crisp, light-to-medium body, medium-to-high carbonation, finish is too sudsy/soapy for me. 3

OK at best, odd soapy quality. Like my pilsners razor clean.

A- Hazy Yellow with a nice effervesence.
S- slightly floral
T- rich and smooth, very bright and crisp flavor. Perfect back porch beer.
P- Pairs best with a bleak, violent, desaturated atmosphere like Takashi Miike's OldBoy. Contrasts Dae-Suh's hopelessness nicely.

Canned on 4/25/14. 12oz can poured into a pint glass. Pours a transparent pale yellow with a huge fluffy eggshell white head that eventually falls leaving nice retention and solid lacing. The aromas are full of corn and malts. Some pear and green apple in the mix, but it's very subtle. Flavors are clean and crisp. This stays pretty true to the style and doesn't try to be flashy or anything unique. There's not much of a hop presence going on, which is okay. There's a very subtle spiciness, and I mean subtle. Malts are there, but seem to take a backseat. Mouthfeel is great. It's light and crisp with a nice creaminess to it. It's slightly fluffy and very smooth. This is perfect for the hot weather.

This is a nice pilsener. It's extremely easy to drink and is something you can toss back all day in the summer. It's refreshing and thirst quenching. It's pretty standard for the style, but it's well crafted.

Bottled awhile ago, 4/16. Poured 7/31.

Appearance: Pours a very pale yellow color, true to the style. Soapy white head floats on top with a good amount of lacing, and tons of carbonation streaming up from my laser etched glass.

Smell: Still smells fresh. Hay, wheat-like aroma, pale malts, and a slight hoppy note as well. Like many in the style, simple, light, but pleasant.

Taste/feel: Talk about a refreshing beer. Light on flavor, maybe even so for the style, but what's there is super tasty. No corny sort of flavor that sometimes comes through for me in the style, just crisp as hell.... and I hate the word "crisp." Light biscuit malt character with hay and a liiiittle bit of hops. Mmm, a fantastic summer beer. The feel is also awesome.. Super drinkable with what initially seemed like a thin body, but it's not quite watery. Solid carbonation, on-point for the style.

I've been drinking loads of crap like Leinenkugel Summer Shandy, Labatt Blue, and even -- gulp -- Bud Light recently, so this hit the proverbial spot, and I'm probably overrating this a bit because of that fact.

A - Pours beautifully, with a couple fingers of sudsy head and reall nice lacing. Straw gold and clear as can be.

S - smells like not much really. Sort of a musty generic lager smell with a little honey sweetness.

T - Tastes musty for a split second, but instantly turns crisp and snappy, with nice lemon zing. There's some hay in the middle and pepper and grass on the finish, all in a very cohesive and subtle fashion. Maybe a tad on the sweet side for a pilsner.

M - mouthfeel is nice because it lingers on the palate much longer than you would expect, with some honey-like heft. A little chalky around the edges.

Overall, nicely structured and refreshing. I could drink this all day, though I wish it was a tad dryer.
