Appearance: Pours a clear, dark amber, with red highlights. The head is an enchanting gold color, and is creamy and long-lasting.

Smell: The strong aroma is undeniably sweet: milk chocolate, toffee, and faint fruity esters are complemented by fresh biscuit malt, and balanced by spicy hops.

Taste: Caramel and brown sugar-coated bread crusts are rounded out by roasted coffee, which creates a medium-light bitterness. The spicy hop character is present in the flavor as well as the aroma, but the balance is towards the malt, as is typical with this style.

Mouthfeel: Medium mouthfeel with medium-high carbonation, and a finish just dry enough to counterbalance the sweetness. The presence of alcohol warmth is typical.

Overall: A tasty, complex, sweet-but-not-too-sweet doppelbock. More balanced than other flavorful dark beers in that it's neither more toasty than roasty, nor more sugary than spicy, etc. No one flavor dominates, making the complexity that much more enjoyable.

Beautiful light brown ruby color with a thin head with low retention.
Slightly hoppy aroma with lots of licorice and red fruits.
Flavor of red fruits, brandy, raisins, cocoa, maple syrup, prunes and pines. Dry aftertaste but with a smooth finish with its residual taste.
Full body with low carbonation, alcohol of 8.2% ABV seems soft and harmonic with the overall beer.
Robust but refreshing beer at the same time: Sin perder la condura. Excellent Doppelbock, complex but not tiring. Highly recommended.

A: The beer pours medium brown, not overwhelmingly dark or heady and seems slightly hazy.

S: Strong caramel on the nose and there is the surprising addition if earthy hop notes.

T: This is where the beer shines, malty and sweet but not syrupy, The overall flavor profile is much more on the hearty, flavorful side that is usually characteristics of ales rather than the traditional clean, simple tasty profile that often develops from lagering.

M: Not thick but this beer has a hearty texture. The minimal head does mot offer a creamy finish but still quite smooth and drinkable.

O: Double bocks are not a common style these days and this is one of the better ones going. A perfect beer for warming up on those cold winter nights, Troegenator stays true to the key elements of the style but offers some unique flavors as well.
