2-finger head, little lacing, light red, raspberry aroma and taste, tart but smooth, light mouthfeel. Very refreshing!

Fresh, lightly tart. Perfect for a hot summer day.

12 oz bottle

pinkish red color, fairly clear, white head. aroma is raspberries- not too overpowering or cloying. similarly the taste is enough fruit to get the flavor, with a crisp tartness and touch of salt to keep it clean, short aftertaste. thinner bodied, higher carbonation.

Medium carbonation with just under average body
Aroma is raspberry jam, grain, malt, raspberry vinaigrette
Taste is really very similar to aroma, not too sweet. Definitely low on the tartness but had a little dry cranberry taste
Overall it was a decent attempt at the style and would try again

Poured from a 12 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Nearly clear bright raspberry pink pour. 2 fingers of fizzy pink-tinged head. Modest lacing.

S: Raspberry jam. Berries, fruit, and a bit of funk.

T.F: Light bordering on watery. Tart raspberry and a dash of funk. A bit of lemon rind/citrus. Simple and a bit 1-dimensional. Zesty carbonation. More raspberry and a dash of salt at the finish.

O: An easy drinking low-abv tart raspberry brew. Just like the Boysenberry Tart this is a solid summer/lawnmower beer. Went down well enough after a 7 mile hike with the hound.

Amber body with pink tints with a white head. Smells like cool raspberry, but tartness was pretty light with some grains and flowers. Taste was watery, with the raspberry coming across sweet more than tart, with some flowers, malt and cranberry supporting, pretty bland. Feel is watery and cool, very little tartness.

12 oz can. Pours pink with tall, long lasting pinkish head. Nose is of raspberries. Body is medium and tangy. Taste is of raspberries, bready malt and some hops. Finish is long and acidic. Refreshing brew.

12 oz can purchased at the brewery, "Freshest by 8/30/2019."

Pinkish/reddish color and hazy with a small white head. Berries dominate the aroma with a noticeable sour aspect to it as well. Not really any malt or hops to speak of. Tart flavor with a tingly finish. This is a fruit and yeast driven beer all the way. Medium bodied.

The acidity makes this a nice drink for the summer. Probably wouldn't have more than one or two at a time though.

Part of the Greeting From Troegs Sampler Pack (2019).

My first venture into the tart ale style. Pours a pinkesh gold/amber color with a 2 finger light, fluffy head. Very strong tart, raspberry aroma with an even stronger tart flavor.

Not a fan, but it won't stop me from trying others in the style (I felt the same about IPAs when I first tried them), so who knows. . .

Tröegs Brewing Co. "Raspberry Tart Ale"
12 fl. oz. can, "BEST BY 08/31/2019" but not sampled until 09/20/2019
$2.49 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ

Notes via stream of consciousness: Beautiful pinkish amber body and massive head of pinkish foam. I'll let it settle for a moment and then top it off. Great, it looks perfect. Being a sour beer I'm a little surprised the head has held for so long but I certainly don't expect it to leave much lacing beyond a few small spots here and there. The aroma is of a light raspberry and something that I can't make out, but it seems like something leafy. Maybe it's coming from the coriander, maybe it's coming from the salt, maybe its coming from the hops, maybe it's coming from something else - I don't know what it is, but it's not unpleasant. In the end I'm going to go with the coriander. I'm not sure it's needed, but it does give it a little more character. The flavor is bright with a bit of tartness and that same light raspberry note found in the aroma. I'm not getting the odd thing that I couldn't figure out though, nor am I finding the salt. It's really nicely balanced between a slightly sweetish malt base and a soft acidity with the raspberry flavor as the main component. Ahhh, there is a little bit of a coriander flavor in the finish which is nice. In the mouth it's light-medium in body and slightly sharp with acidity and carbonic acid bite but not by much. It's a rather delicate beer all around, and I'd imagine at just 4.5% ABV you could drink a few of these over the course of a hot day.
