Notes / Commercial Description:
JavaHead is like a day at Tröegs; it’s hard to tell where the coffee ends and the beer begins. This creamy oatmeal stout is infused with locally roasted, cold steeped coffee through our HopBack vessel, releasing subtle hints of cocoa, roasted nuts and dark mocha.

Enjoyed at the dive bar.

A -Poured into a tulip a nice deep dark brown black hue with a good two finger mocha head that fades to leave sticky lacing and a thin mocha blanket.

S - Aromas of dark roasted malts, chocolate and coffee, mmm coffee. Some nice oats too.

T - Taste is nice coffee, oats, chocolate, roast malts. Mm, quite nice. Coffee isn't too strong but it is nicely vibrant and oat creamy goodness.

M - Mouthfeel is very creamy and smooth, nice light bitterness. Quiet good.

O - Overall I enjoyed this beer, nice coffee, chocolate, and oats. Straightforward and well executed.

Had on tap at the Troegs Brewery tasting room.

Brought to the table in a tall pint glass. Looked excellent, black with flashes of brown body, 1" or so caramel head. Lacing was good and maintained throughout,

Aroma was mostly coffee and malt.

Taste was just beautiful, coffee coming through nice and strong without being overpowering, slightly sweet malty tones.

Mouth was delicious, a little above medium, good burn toward the back of the mouth.

Overall, a beer I have had many times via the bottle, first time from the tap. To be honest, didn't feel much of a difference betweeen the two. A great coffee stout, certainly one I would recommend and have again. Readily available in this part of PA.
