So I had this on Tap before and now I found it at a local store. Decided to try the bottle. It had a smoother taste which could be due to the freshness or quality of the keg I was drinking out of. This was bottled on 11/28/11.

Red/Amber color. Clear. Bubbley head. Very bitter citrus smell.

Sweet to the taste. Immediately you get a nice hoppy bite, not too strong, slighty citrus malt taste. Smooth dry finish. The bite on the hops didn't seem as prominant, its smoothed out by the sweet malt flavor. Still a bit of a bitter hop after tast but I really enjoy this beer.

This beer pours a orange to amber in color with quarter inch of head with minimal lacing.

Smells of sweet caramel malt and flowery hops.

The taste is similar to the nose mostly caramel malt, brown sugar, and nice slightly hoppy finish.

There is almost no carbonation and its smooth.

Overall its a nice beer, and I would have again.

Bottle poured into a pint glass.

This beer appears a nice amber/red color with a good off-white head. The head lingers for a bit and leaves nice lacing. The aroma has a good malt backbone balanced nicely by a light citrus hop smell. The taste of this beer is very balanced but still has a good hop flavor. The initial flavor is caramel and other candy malt flavors which is followed by a great hop bitterness. The hops taste of citrus (lemon, orange) and leave a bittering effect after the fruit flavors vanish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and slight creamy.

This is one of my old standbys. It is relatively local (about an hour from where I live/70 miles) and it is abundant in this area. It is a great flavored ale and a well crafted beer. Troeg's does not make a mistake when they claim this as their flagship beer.

Apperance- pours a smooth 1/4 inch head. Very light lacing

Taste- This beer is very smooth and drinkable. We call it a creeper beer because is is 6 percent but slides like a typical yellow beer.

overall- This is a very drinkable amber ale that I would not hesitate to drink again.
