At Tröegs, artisanal meets mechanical in a state of IPA we call Perpetual. Cycling through our HopBack vessel and dry-hopping method, this bold Imperial Pale Ale emerges rife with sticky citrus rind, pine balm and tropical fruit.

(bottled 071814 - poured into a tulip pint)
A: filtered-clear, bright golden-yellow liquid... two-finger tall, yellowish-white foam... thick, spongy-sudsy build... as nice as the head looks at first, it collapses fairly swiftly and fails to leave much lace
S: lightly-spicy lemon, piney hop resins with a faint background flame of booze... familiar hop aromas that, coincidentally, seem to often accompany lighter-colored IPAs... the citrus be concentrated, however, a bit of light caramel malt pokes through... altogether, invitingly vibrant and suggestively sweetish
T: lemon-tart coated cereal grain... almost an "imperial" Czech pils-like, malty and floral mid point... somewhat herbal finish with a very slight doughy yeast tang in the aftertaste...
M: super-duper foamy-soft flow - at first, it masks an initial hop/alcohol prick that eventually becomes more of a jump-in-the-pool, refreshing, zesty, (fiery) flash that glows long through the finish... very soft and blanket-y (as in flattened)... dry, however, leaving mellow residual streaks of plant syrup
O: the fermentation characteristics from the yeast seem to come through more so than the lion's share of IPAs querfed in my time... the hops flow in a low-voltage electric current - bitter, stingy, and citrusy - so it doesn't knock you over the head - provided you eat well, you could easily knock back 3-4 of these over an evening hanging outside or at a bar, watching the game of the hour

It is widely available IPA on the Northeast coast of the USA. This IPA is the best balance to cost ratio you can find for its production mass. It is balanced well IPA that supplements to modest to moderate tastebuds well. Brewery is right next to Hershey Park in Pennsylvania. It is a staple beer found in many bars on tap, and for good reason too!!

When I am confronted with a large selection, to save time, I will say Perpetual and be very happy. A driving force for me it is fairly local. Prefer the draft over a bottle. The ABV is perfect for me and the flavor is what I like. Just had a few today along with my Anti pasta salad. Got to keep the calories down. I figure a salad would do it.

Surprisingly well made WCIPA. Never boring with special attitudes: Thick foam head, exceptionally balanced bold malt and piney hops, mango and grapefruit added, aftertaste long lasting. Great!

Pours clear, slightly dark golden. Almost no carbonation rising. 1-finger creamy white head. Good lasting power.
Aroma of grapefruit, sweetness and pine.
Taste if grapefruit, sweet, piney, grassy
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and nicely cleansing
Overall, a decent brew. Definitely worth a try.

L - Golden with some clarity along with an off-white head that dissipates somewhat quickly leaving behind some lacing
S - piney hops along with tropical fruit notes, honey, and malt - smell is faint
T - follows the nose: piney, bitter hops up front and throughout intermixed well with notes of citrus - orange and grapefruit - with a good amount of malt to balance out any bitterness, some honey and caramel as well
F - medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Soft and smooth
O - a nicely balanced West Coast IPA
