On tap at Mad Mex keep the pint promo. Nice carbonation. Served with little head but it could be the bar's glass - who really knows. Smells of a citrus, grapefruit bomb. Tastes great. Nice & bitter, dry. Little bit of crystal to back up the hops. Excellent and well done. Could drink a lot of these through and through. Glad to have another solid, high-quality IPA here in PA.

Poured into snifter. Clear golden yellow/orange with a thin white head even from a vigorous pour. Sits as a tight disc of foam for a while. Lots of delicate lacing as it's drunk. Smells of strong piney hops with some citrus fruits in the background. Taste is crisp, with tons of resinous and bitter hops up front with some fruit notes in the background. Fruit smells increase as it warms. Sweet malts try and make a play, but the hops beat them into submission. Mouthfeel is medium and pretty smooth for a DIPA, nicely done.

22oz bottle. 5 bucks or so from Pints O'Plenty. Bottled 8-11-11.

Appearance: Brilliant, luminous golden with extreme clarity. Great retention on the head and sticky webs of lacing.

Smell: Strongly piney with a little dank and some bitter smelling citrus. There's a bit of pale malt sweetness and a touch of grainy flavor.

Taste: Wow, that's bitter. Sharp, resiny pine and grapefruit pith. Barely a kiss of crackery malt and graininess. Lasting bitter, dry finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium body. Resiny. Finishes dry and crisp.

Overall: I enjoy the smell a lot. The taste less so. I don't like when an ipa is grainy or vegetal, and this has a little of that. Also a little too unbalanced with harsh bitterness. Good, not great.

A- clear light orange yellow body that looks somewhat pale. Nice 2 finger head thats got good retention.

S- nice sweet and piney nose witue some malt in there too. Sharp sweet citrus like grapefruit and orange.

T- nice floral and citrus up front that is big and satisfying. Mellows down in the middle and the malt becomes more obvious which is followed by a nice piney bitter finish. Grest taste

M- medium mouthfeel with nice creamy carbonation. Feels pretty good for an IPA/DIPA

O- really nice brew here. Very tasty and well rounded. Make this seasonal or year round please!

A: [3.25] Golden yellowish color. Forms a nice dense 1 finger white head. I can see lots of bubbles coming up from the insignia on the bottom of the glass. The head has staying power. Decent lacing on the glass. The ABV is clearly marked at 7.5%. The born on date is a treasure hunt. I found a Julian code (I think). It seems the beer is 5 months old. Man julian codes tick me off

S: [4.00] Nice aroma. Pine, floral and some sweet undertones.

T: [2.75] Not like the nose. The first sip was metallic. That faded quickly. The following sips were bitter front to back - not overpowering - but it is the main element. I keep sipping looking for more. I assume there is hop fade due to the age. There is some corn taste, maybe a slight hint of lemon citrus - but nothing really following the nose.

M: [3.00] The bitter front to back is not a great benefit to mouthfeel. The carbonation and body are right - but the bitterness is a distraction.

O: [3.25]The nose and the appearance were pretty promising after that it kind of fell down. I guess I will try another one, in the future, if I find it fresh. The alcohol is well hidden - so that is a plus. This is a "C" beer.

Pours a golden amber with a medium off white head slowly dissipating to a razor thin lasting through out with moderate lacing. Aroma of floral citrus hops, grapefruit, caramel malt, yeast and fruity notes. Taste same as aroma with some flavorful tangy grapefruit notes. A medium body on the palate, good carbonation with a smooth sweet bitter tangy mouth feel. Finished with sweet caramel malt, yeast fruity balanced by some floral citrus hops with a slightly tangy grapefruit ending. Overall a very good, flavorful and solid IPA.

Pours a light golden color - very clear with a bubbly white head leaning towards cream - good retention & nice lacing. Bottled on date clearly visible - this has about a month on it.

A nice floral bouquet in the nose with a big citrus punch grapefruit, orange, tangerine - an alluring aroma.

Malty chewy biscuit up front quickly fades to sweet tangerine which is almost immediately lost to bitter grapefruit. A roller coaster of delight for the taste buds. Finish is dry with a bitter herb punch. A delightful IPA that is exciting and delicious.
