The Troegs DIPA is similar to most big IPAs that are trying to have 1000 IBUs....very malty with bitter hops. The beer poured a nice copper with white head that is leaving a lace. The scent is mostly bittering hops. The taste is bolstered by big malt that is slightly sweet....to balance the beer there is bitter hops with not much pine or citrus. The mouthfeel is full in body with good carbonation. Overall this is a good DIPA for those that like it bitter....for those that want pine and citrus will be dissappointed with this one.

12 oz bottle poured into pint glass.

I don't know what the deal is but this most recent batch is absolutely superb! I've had this beer many times but this new batch has blown me away.

A: Nice dark yellow, orange hue. Decent head to start and fades into a very nice lacing around the edge. Leaves that spiderweb-like appearance on the glass.

S: Pine, tropical fruit, citrus.

T: First thought on this new batch: amazing. The tropical fruits really explode and leave such a perfect flavor in your mouth well after the initial sip. Nice bitterness, not overwhelming. Pine, citrus and bready malts follow.

M: Medium bodied, well carbonated. ABV undetectable.

O: Like I said in the beginning of the review, totally amazed by this new batch of Perpetual. Leaves me wondering if they have changed the recipe. Classic IPA that may become world class if every batch is this amazing.
