Fresh from a bottle into a proper Dfish Head IPA glass. Rather clear and golden, not a lot of carbonation, but a solid lumpy head, almost like dirty Styrofoam. Taste is proper grapefruity modern IPA. Somewhere in between a Stone and a twohearted Bells. Very good and worth adding to the shortlist.

Grabbed a single bottle on a recent trip to Philadelphia.

Pours a golden, copper in color with hints of cherry. A thin layer of bubbly foam sits atop, which quickly dissipates. Plenty of lacing on the glass. Aroma is thick; an amalgamation of sweet malts, light fruits, spice, citrus and pine with a touch of alcohol, bubble gum and some earthiness, especially on the pour. Flavor follows the nose well. The brew really exhibits the full hop spectrum as it's got pine, flower, citrus and spice. The toasty, biscuit malts hit first, but only very briefly before the hop avalanche sets in subsiding back to the malts before finally finishing dry with lingering grapefruit rind on the tongue. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a fair amount of chewiness and lively carbonation, especially on the swallow, which thins a bit as it goes down.

Overall this is a complex and quality offering that packs a lot of flavor without being overbearing. It's not quite drinkable at 7.5% ABV and screams "hangover" if you have more than one or two as it's quite oily. That said, this is a great beer to savor and is a fine example of the style. This is my second brew from Tröegs and they continue to impress. Cheers!

P- Poured from a 12 oz can,into a Cigar City Spiegelau IPA glass.Best by 08/30/2017.

L- Soapy white colored head that stands 1 finger width tall, with good retention and sticky lacing.Crisp golden / straw colored body, with very good clarity, and a high amount of carbonation.

S- On the nose I get dank pine hops, with some citrus, tropical fruit, and bready biscuit notes.

T- The palate follows the nose with bitter pine up front, tropical fruits in the middle, and citrus grapefruit balanced by pine hops and biscuit malts on the back end.

F- The mouth feel is medium bodied, with a nice sticky texture.Moderate amount of oxidation on the tongue, and a chalky texture after the sip.

O- This is a pretty solid IPA.Nothing out if the ordinary, but still very good.I would definitely drink this one again, and recommend the hop heads to give it a try.

Look: Pours a toasted yellow color with a three finger, off white head that hangs around for a good five minutes. Laces the glass exceptionally well.

Aroma: Tame on the nose. Sweet orange, a little lemon, sticky caramel a bit of bitter pine.

Taste: Bitter upfront with soft notes of fruit rind, predominantly grapefruit, orange and lemon oils. Shifts into sweet flavors of tangerine juice, pineapple, mild guava and caramel mid palate. Some moderate notes of toasted grains. Finishes dry on more bitter notions of pine and fruit zest.

Feel: Mid weight body with moderate carbonation. Well balanced between dry and sweet flavors, but leaning more towards the drier side on the finish. A little ashy, but an easy drinking beer. ABV is well hidden, but its such a nice easy going IPA if you're anything like me you'll enjoy the flavor so much you'll end up drinking it quite fast - so it will hit you.

Overall: I found this by itself hanging out in the back of the fridge in my garage. Last april I had bought a six pack of Perpetual IPA when I was starting my garden, must have forgot about this last bottle until now. This particular bottle is a little old, but it still satisfies. I like these easy drinking, well balanced but drier style IPAs as we are still transitioning from winter to spring and the whether is still windy and chilly.

Perpetual IPA is also generally easy to find on the East Coast, and it wont cost you an arm and a leg, which is great considering you're getting a 7.5% IPA. I think I paid $11 and change for a six pack of this stuff, which again is a great buy considering the quality.

What I like about this beer is that it's almost DIIPA like with a nice juicy tropical profile, without being insanely bitter, while still maintaining a solid hop backbone that shines throughout. I've had a lot of their lineup, and Tröegs has some serious skill at making drinkable, flavorsome beers that satisfy both your taste and thirst.

Appears golden orange and clear with minimal head or lacing out of can poured into glass. Smell is a balance of straightforward malt and hops. Nothing complex, really. Taste is same, with crisp mouthfeel, but not too dry given the ABV. There is an initial metallic taste, but a few sips in and this disappears. Fairly basic and straightforward, but a solid balanced IPA and one I'm happy to say is fairly local for me.
