L) The beer looks fantastic. It pours a ruby-tinted honey color with a similar viscosity. It honestly is almost more a pleasure to swirl than to drink.

S) The smell leaves some to be desired. It is great, but is not as strong as the taste. The Yeast strain dominates the nose, and while the maltiness and cherries are present, they seem submissive.

T) The beer tastes solid. The cherries are present, not sweet or tart, mostly the tannic, dark fruit characteristics present in the peel. The honey seems to mostly have fermented out, but there are some notes in there that blend harmoniously with the lovely malt brought to the table. The yeast does add something that wraps this beer together in a tight little package, it is quite nice.

F) The mouthfeel is lovely. It is as silky as some outmeal stouts I have had. An absolute pleasure to sip.

O) This is a good seasonal. Worth picking up and recommending for Belgian strong ale lovers.

Wow. Interesting. Very much a holiday vibe. Boozy but fairly well hidden. Can't really taste the cherries or honey but the whole package is pretty good. Give it a try.

A good Christmas/winter beer. Pour it into a glass and enjoy it around a nice cozy fireplace on a cold night.

Poured from 12oz bottle into pint glass

A - Deep red color, little head that fades quickly

S - Fruity, cherry, spiced. Extremely faint medicinal smell - cherry cough drops or cough syrup, but still pleasant.

T - Dangerous, as it tastes very juicy. Cherry and a lingering honey, sweet but not overly so. hides the >10% ABV almost too well.

F - Low carbination. Mid-weight, not the lightest beer I've had but not the heaviest.

O - Pleasently surprised. A lot of the high octane beers I've tried have been thick and syrup-y, beyond where I find enjoyable. Mad Elf comes off smoother, but still has the heavier flavor and smell that I like in a winter beer.

Outstanding holiday ale that's worth the effort to track down. Pours a beautiful, slightly faded ruby. Strong aroma of ripe cherries. Medium bodied and finely textured, it hides the alcohol very well. Succulent and very long on the palate. Best served on the warmer side. [fresh 12 oz. bottle into a goblet glass]

Reddish brown color, low carbonation but still has a decent feel. Aroma isn't strong but it's cherry candy, yeast and spice. Taste is identical, cherrys and spice followed by a little honey. Alcohol is really well hidden except for a small medicinal taste which is impressive but also something to be careful of as I had to stop at one

A: Clear, reddish brown hue, a little tinted head. Dissipated quickly.
S: Cherries, honey, sweet spices, yeast, all good.
T: Same as the nose, but a real explosion of flavor. The cherry and spice are way out front and give way to the yeast and malt.
M: Medium/full bodied. Perfectly carbonated and works perfectly with the flavor profile.
O: I love this beer. I've bought it for multiple years and have come to realize that there is zero value in aging it. You can, there is just no point. It tastes perfect for 6-8 months, after 12-18 it's still good, but after that it trails off into a oblivion.
