Wow, this was the one that put me away! Great body with lots of malt. Decent pungent aroma from the columbus hops, bitterness was not overdone. Color was a deep burgundy with medium carbonation. Sneaky drink because you do not catch any of the alcohol until it's too late. If you've had Sierra Nevada's Bigfoot, this is much more better.

Had this on 2012-05-16 in Lancaster, PA at a special Troegs event at The Fridge. According to Kevin, only 7 casks of this were produced. Thanks for the event!!

A - Lightly hazy, ruby-brown with a 1.5 finger light tan head and very nice ringed lacing.

S - Rasins, grape skin, black currants, some caramel. Light but pleasant. I did not notice any difference in the aroma from the dry-hopping with Columbus vs having the regular Flying Mouflan on-tap at the brewery when it was released.

T - Initially sweet roasted grain, raisins, concord grapes, light touch of chocolate and pine, caramel and lots of grapefruit zest bitterness. Plenty of IBUs here that continue long into the aftertaste only partially balanced by sweet fruit and malt remnants. It seems the Columbus made the flavor a little more malty and less earthy but it was a subtle difference.

M - Medium body and light carbonation. Very resinous (moreso with the Columbus), oily and prickly. I enjoyed the on-cask feel.

O - A different take on a barleywine. I get a passing reference to an amped-up Nugget Nectar but it has its own thing going on. I didn't think the Columbus dry hopping made more than a subtle difference.
