So glad to finally experience this brewery up close and personal. The place is beautiful, although the current construction understandably detracts from the exterior. Interior is a nice combo of open brewery/warehouse feel and slightly upscale dining. Great mix of staple comfort foods and interesting eclectic dishes. The beer was excellent, which was a given, and I was happy to stock up in the general store on my way out.

2016 August review: 3rd visit
FYI: GOT my naked elf crowler.
Tried the chocolate nitro. Yes they made a chocolate beer in Hershey PA.
Still same good vibe. Got my stash of items I cannot get back at home.
Got my new t-shirts.
Waved good bye.

Been here twice going home from Hershey park with the family. Basically letting the Dad visit before the family goes home.
Nothing like getting some scratch beer not available at home.

Oh HOME of Nugget nectar and mad elf MMMMMmmm
Can't be the stuff on tap.
Yet to try the naked elf , which was only available at the brewery. Missed my opportunity.

Great place. Got More T shirts !!

That's all from me

Visited Troegs for dinner on our way to Pittsburgh. This place is huge, but still has a really nice vibe. Very open with plenty of seating. The beer was, as usual from Troegs, solid, but unspectacular. The food, on the other hand, was really great. A nice selection, including several vegetarian-friendly choices, and some interesting takes on basic bar food. The grilled cheese may have been the best I've ever had.

This place gets crowded fast, and the availability of brewery tours is very low, but they offer a nice alternative I'd love to see more places give: the ability to do a self-guided tour. It's considerably shorter and doesn't show you much of what you'd likely learn walking around with a group of people and a brewery employee, but there are info graphics on the walls at different stations and you can carry your beer or food through the area as you read.

The food itself is fantastic. It's cafeteria style, so you do have to order it and go find a seat in a crowded warehouse-sized room, but the food itself is so far from the typical run-of-the-mill variety you'll see in some brewpubs that it more than makes up for it. Their variety is everything from small, cheese-based plates to larger entrees that include venison, pork, porchetta, and a number of other German-inspired dishes.

The beer itself is great too, but you probably already know that. The brewery is one of the few things of note in Hershey (and maybe the only thing of note in the winter when Hershey Park is closed), so it's extremely popular. Parking is rough and not that big, but once you're in, you'll find a great atmosphere.

Used to go to the original brewery way back when but this is an awesome upgrade! Definitely a better location and a little further away from normal traffic in the area. I just really like the entire environment of the place. Very comfortable. GREAT food and lots of different beers on tap, including many offerings from their Scratch series. A place I'll go back to whenever I can.

We make the three hour trip up to four times a year just for the beer, food, and overall atmosphere. My wife and I have taken the brewery tour multiple times just for the fun of it, and are never disappointed! We are true Troeg's fans for life!

Nice place, although I'm here on a summer Saturday and it's a madhouse. Oktoberfest style seating with big long tables. Getting your first beer can be a challenge but after that very quick service. Food is amazing but I'm not a fan of their "snack bar" style- order and pick up at an area in the back.

Went there earlier today at the opening so it was pretty quiet. Great service and beers. Had the pretzel and it was great. Definitely will be going back! Only had time to do the self guided tour, but want to do the guided one.
Overall, the place is very big with lots of seating. Rock music playing in the background quietly.

Great tasting room and gift shop, calling this a "tasting room" is an understatement; it's like a beer hall attached to the brewery that offers great beer at a huge bar, plenty of tables for eating from the Snack Bar, and really damn good food at affordable prices.

The beer menu features most of Tröegs’ year-round beers, plus seasonal, limited, and Scratch series beers that you can have as samplers, pints, and growlers to-go. They will tell you which beers are the freshest and just finished brewing, in fact last time I was there they just started kegging Naked Elf and Dead Reckoning Porter - got a growler of each and loved them both, so tasty and fresh.

The Scratch Beers are always fun to try and basically exclusive at the brewery, so check those out when you go and get one to wash down the huge tasty pretzels. Prices are good and fair, the gift shop has cool glassware and gear and it's just a really great place to visit.

8/7/2015-Went to the brewery again and found it even more enjoyable and lively, with the crowd all very friendly and seeming to have a great time. It felt like a local pub, but the place is massive and the food is excellent. The service was outstanding and the vibe makes me jealous that I only get to visit once per year. This visit was so good I raised the rating on both the vibe and service.

A very well designed space, lots of great food options. The beer is exciting and the options unique and delicious, as expected. Do come hungry, and make sure to pace yourself. Did not get to check out the bottle shop, but I'd definitely go out of my way to visit this spot again.

One of my favorite local breweries! The beer is great, and the food is wonderful. It is a fantastic place to make a pit stop if you are in the area. Best part about a day at Hershey Park -- going to Troegs after!

Troegs is wonderful especially if you have the time to visit regualarly. They already have a solid lineup of brews that have stood the test of time for favorites and I love that each time I go they have 2-4 scratch beers on tap. Most of these brews never see another light of day so those that take a special pleasure in tasting a beer that may never be produced again will appreciate this. The taproom is the best that I have ever seen and I have visted taprooms across the States and Internationally. The kitchen is for those that have a daring palette. I appreciate their "farm to table" mentality and it is refreshing to see a seasonal menu.

Service is top notch folks. It doesnt get much better than this and if the ambiance of community discussions is your thing then this is your brew stop. As an IPA lover their Perpetual is a staple of Central PA residents diet but I may add that everyone shoud try the Troegenator and Mad Elf if you are in the area during the winter months.

Overall, Troegs is a wonderful establishment and a must visit for those visiting the area.

Really cool place to hang tour or eat. Bar was full for Friday which is great. But it is a big bar so a bit slow to get a beer in between samplers and growlers. Had a scratch sour wheat 'gose' was delicious. Had to bring it home

Over all this was a great place. The food is not your average bar fair. Upscale actually. The only reason I gave it a lower rating for service is because there is no table service for food. It is carnival style service, I can't say it is because of the law because I know of no other place in PA that serves food this way. The beer is awesome and the selection is outstanding with many beers on tap from their regular line up as well as about 20-25 others that you will only see at the brewery.

First off, I love the atmosphere in this place. My first time here I came late summer and it was bright and sunny. Sitting outside looking at the beautiful Pennsylvanian hills out front was a real treat. I like how in the area of the self-guided tour there are more tables which are typically vacant, even when it's packed in the main area. They have decent year-round beers but their seasonal selections are where they shine. Nugget Nectar in the spring. Mad Elf in the winter. Need I say more? The scratch beers are hit-or-miss, so I'd maybe ask for a sample. On my most recent trip I sampled Scratch's 136 and 138, the red ale and Belgian Brown. The red ale was awful. I consumed maybe 2 ounces before opting for the far superior Nugget Nectar. The Belgian Brown was okay. I brought home a six-pack of scratch 137 IPA. That was a phenomenal brew. I wish I tried it fresh on tap. Oh well.

This past weekend was my second time coming here and Hershey Park is currently not open. Even so, the parking lot was 100% to capacity that Saturday night. We were lucky enough to get a spot in the parking lot, as someone was leaving while we were driving through, but be prepared to park next door and do a little walking. The merch store was also really nice and I got a delicious honey barbecue sauce. As a vegetarian there weren't many food options, but what I did eat was pretty good (three-cheese grilled cheese). The Bavarian pretzel, and especially the mustard, was delicious.

If you are in the area, definitely come check this place out. If you are considering coming to Pennsylvania just for a brewery experience, I recommend hitting up both Troegs and Victory, which is about an hour 15 minutes east, for an excellent beercation.

Been here many times. Great place. Food is ordered at a cashier. You get a buzzer to get it to pick up when when ready. Food is a cut above. Beers are very good. Some are excellent. Good self or guided tours.

I hate the brothers (owners), love most of the beer line, and this is not your "normal" brewery, pub, bar food (can only recommend the popcorn!). There's always a "Scratch" brew on the board which is typically unavailable anywhere else.

Really great food, scratch beers are typically interesting. Nice little gift shop. Knock for me since I'm local is that it's gets incredibly busy in the summer time since it's at the center of a major tourist destination.

The self guided tour is super lame. If you are traveling to get here, plan way ahead to book a tasting tour. The main area is crowded, loud and service is crazy hard to get, as well as getting food.

Smell the hops as you pull into this brewery in Hershey. Big shop on the right and even bigger beer hall as you walk up to the taps. Always a good variety of Troegs beers ready for Ruther pour. Love me some nugget nectar and mad elf. Very good dinner menu with some gastropub specialties such as poutine. A worthwhile stop.

This place is really a brewer's dream come true. The dining area is delightfully integrated into a fancy brewing area, separated only by the bar. Why there is not a paper place-mat with a guide to all of the fancy stainless steel is beyond me. I can't think of any other place where these two elements are so delightfully integrated. Food is ordered and picked up at the far end of the room, which really makes things a lot easier. Also, there is a pretty straight forward self-guided tour, which was a nice touch.

The food was a mix. First of all, I had the best pretzel of my entire life there; no exaggeration. It was rolled in spent barley, and simply perfect. However, the poutine fries were disgusting. They were close to a cross of mashed potatoes and french fries drenched in gravy. You could literally eat them with a spoon, which was decidedly unappetizing. Bad fries is bad fries. Next, we had the bratwurst, which was solid, but nothing special.

Troegs makes solid beer, so I can't say too much about this. Nothing amazing, but nothing you'd consider sending back.

Service was fine. As mentioned, we had to pick up our own food. The place was packed and there was a long line for beer, but we managed to get the bartender's attention at our seat on the far edge of the bar. Not too bad, but it could be terrible on a really busy day.

Not a bad place, but if you're a brewer or into the brewing process, this would be a really special experience. And for God's sake, order the pretzel!

Excellent, almost perfect. Guided tours were booked for at least a month of Saturdays but I went to tour desk and asked if there was any possibility of getting on tour for 23rd anniversary - we were on the next tour. Food was gourmet level, beer was delicious and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Only downside is 240 mile roundtrip!

Beautiful decor of creativity. Excellent self guided tour with graffiti artwork. Beers are top notch and always have a new limited experimental beer. Staff is helpful and knowledgable. Food is always interesting and unique. It's as good as the beer.

Had a nice tasting tour at their Hershey Brewery. The different beers we tasted were interesting and very different. Nice to sample such a wide variety of beers, and see the brewery process.

The public tasting room is large but inviting. The gift shop had a nice variety as well as both cans and bottles to take home.

Nice new brewery, pub and store. But our visit here was reduced from a lunch visit to simply picking up beer from the store, since there was no parking. My wife had to circle the block while I bought the beer.
