We make the three hour trip up to four times a year just for the beer, food, and overall atmosphere. My wife and I have taken the brewery tour multiple times just for the fun of it, and are never disappointed! We are true Troeg's fans for life!

Excellent, almost perfect. Guided tours were booked for at least a month of Saturdays but I went to tour desk and asked if there was any possibility of getting on tour for 23rd anniversary - we were on the next tour. Food was gourmet level, beer was delicious and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Only downside is 240 mile roundtrip!

I live 10 minutes from Troegs. So My husband and I try to pace ourselves! The beers are amazing. I am a wheat kind of girl so I LOVE DreamWeaver... My husband is an IPA guy but loves to try the scratches too... His favorites are Nugget Nector, Mad Elf and the IPA's... The food is Great.. a bit eclectic which we LOVE... Not typical Pub food- much more exciting and delicious...The little store they have also has lots of goodies. If you are in the area...DO NOT MISS a visit to Troegs Brewing....

I love them not having televisions. Very conversationalist atmosphere; have met great people from around the country at the brewery. Great food, awesome atmosphere, and even better beer! Some events can get crazy, but their success is certainly deserved and understandable.

This place gets crowded fast, and the availability of brewery tours is very low, but they offer a nice alternative I'd love to see more places give: the ability to do a self-guided tour. It's considerably shorter and doesn't show you much of what you'd likely learn walking around with a group of people and a brewery employee, but there are info graphics on the walls at different stations and you can carry your beer or food through the area as you read.

The food itself is fantastic. It's cafeteria style, so you do have to order it and go find a seat in a crowded warehouse-sized room, but the food itself is so far from the typical run-of-the-mill variety you'll see in some brewpubs that it more than makes up for it. Their variety is everything from small, cheese-based plates to larger entrees that include venison, pork, porchetta, and a number of other German-inspired dishes.

The beer itself is great too, but you probably already know that. The brewery is one of the few things of note in Hershey (and maybe the only thing of note in the winter when Hershey Park is closed), so it's extremely popular. Parking is rough and not that big, but once you're in, you'll find a great atmosphere.

One of the best brewery/brew pubs I have ever visited.

Loud lively atmosphere. Large communal tables, big airy bar area, with dining tables set off. Bar tenders very attentive and despite the crowds I am served quickly.

9 beers available on tap - the six year rounders and three Scratch series beers. Samplers available - the six year rounders or any three. Two IPAs and a Octoberfest when I was there - hard not to sample all nine. Beers served in appropriate glassware.

Of course, Growlers to go and feels like an outsider not to have a bottle in hand - at least 25% of the people there were carrying.

On top of it all, the food is fantastic. Much to choose from, and all was great. Huge pretzel is a must and the flatbread pizza was fantastic. Not you classic pub fare, clearly thought through and creative fresh ingredients. We went back two nights in a row.

Spacious gift shop offers wares, bottles, mix-a-six, and anything you might want with a Troegs label on it.

A must visit if in the area. And worth travelling to.

In September 2012 while in Pensilvania a group of us had the mad elf at a local bar and enjoyed it so much that we had to make a trip to Hershey. We enjoyed the self guided tours, the small gift shop and that you could buy bottled beer at the the brewery. Furthermore while on the self guided tour you could go the the counter and enjoy a fresh crafted beer as you viewed the fermentation vats, the bottling area and the small cask beer room. I highly recommend this to anyone that is in the Hershey PA area to make a reservation for the special guided behind the counter tour.

Recently 10 of us went on a PA brewery trip and Tröegs was by far the best we visited. We stopped by Friday night and the gift shop was closed but we ended up doing a sampler and getting food. Walking in the place is spectacular and spotless. The staff was very friendly and even though it was three people deep at the bar there was hardly any wait. With our samples we all ordered food and were ecstatic. The grilled cheeses and the pork belly with egg both were amazing and should be tried. Four of us left with filled growlers, cheap when it comes to that style grower and fill, and we had to come back the next morning because they were all empty. The self guided tour is very informative with all the informative stations and the gift shop had one of the best selections we've seen.

Large open space with windows into the brew works as well as the lab. Didn't take the tour, wanted to save time for tastings. Brewery serves decent food if you're stopping in for lunch. Go for the java head stout on a rainy afternoon, it tastes better on tap.

Great tasting room and gift shop, calling this a "tasting room" is an understatement; it's like a beer hall attached to the brewery that offers great beer at a huge bar, plenty of tables for eating from the Snack Bar, and really damn good food at affordable prices.

The beer menu features most of Tröegs’ year-round beers, plus seasonal, limited, and Scratch series beers that you can have as samplers, pints, and growlers to-go. They will tell you which beers are the freshest and just finished brewing, in fact last time I was there they just started kegging Naked Elf and Dead Reckoning Porter - got a growler of each and loved them both, so tasty and fresh.

The Scratch Beers are always fun to try and basically exclusive at the brewery, so check those out when you go and get one to wash down the huge tasty pretzels. Prices are good and fair, the gift shop has cool glassware and gear and it's just a really great place to visit.

8/7/2015-Went to the brewery again and found it even more enjoyable and lively, with the crowd all very friendly and seeming to have a great time. It felt like a local pub, but the place is massive and the food is excellent. The service was outstanding and the vibe makes me jealous that I only get to visit once per year. This visit was so good I raised the rating on both the vibe and service.

First off, I love the atmosphere in this place. My first time here I came late summer and it was bright and sunny. Sitting outside looking at the beautiful Pennsylvanian hills out front was a real treat. I like how in the area of the self-guided tour there are more tables which are typically vacant, even when it's packed in the main area. They have decent year-round beers but their seasonal selections are where they shine. Nugget Nectar in the spring. Mad Elf in the winter. Need I say more? The scratch beers are hit-or-miss, so I'd maybe ask for a sample. On my most recent trip I sampled Scratch's 136 and 138, the red ale and Belgian Brown. The red ale was awful. I consumed maybe 2 ounces before opting for the far superior Nugget Nectar. The Belgian Brown was okay. I brought home a six-pack of scratch 137 IPA. That was a phenomenal brew. I wish I tried it fresh on tap. Oh well.

This past weekend was my second time coming here and Hershey Park is currently not open. Even so, the parking lot was 100% to capacity that Saturday night. We were lucky enough to get a spot in the parking lot, as someone was leaving while we were driving through, but be prepared to park next door and do a little walking. The merch store was also really nice and I got a delicious honey barbecue sauce. As a vegetarian there weren't many food options, but what I did eat was pretty good (three-cheese grilled cheese). The Bavarian pretzel, and especially the mustard, was delicious.

If you are in the area, definitely come check this place out. If you are considering coming to Pennsylvania just for a brewery experience, I recommend hitting up both Troegs and Victory, which is about an hour 15 minutes east, for an excellent beercation.

Compared to the old Troegs brewery, this one is incredible. Much more room to move around, and they offer real, and good, food now. There is a "self-guided tour" you can take for free while enjoying your fresh beer. It is not too spectacular, but it is a good way to pass the time while waiting for your grub to come up (even get buzzers like waiting for a table at a restaurant). The gift shop is spacious and offers up plenty of beer, accessories, and any other beer-related trinkets you can think of. The ACTUAL tour is $5 but it is well worth every cent. You get an in-depth tour from a knowledgeable member of the staff; along the way getting the usual hops, barley, etc exposure. An added bonus (if you're lucky) is to taste some not-yet-released (or named for that matter) beer. At the end of the tour you get some samples, and a free pint glass. Not bad for $5.

Now to the important part: the pub area. There is a LONG L-shaped bar allowing for plenty of space right up front. In addition to that, there is a VERY long beer hall style table. If you want some privacy there are plenty of booths and regular tables, including an area that is sectioned off from the bar (allowing for quieter dining I suppose)

Overall, it is a great place with good beer, and good food. Very easy to pop in for a quick beer, or to stick around and kill an evening before a nearby hockey game or Hershey Park trip. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area; maybe even worth the trip itself.

One of my favorite local breweries! The beer is great, and the food is wonderful. It is a fantastic place to make a pit stop if you are in the area. Best part about a day at Hershey Park -- going to Troegs after!

Troegs is my hometown brewery, so I'll admit to the bias of a neighborhood devotee. But their move from Harrisburg down the road to the larger location in Hershey was an investment worth a good return. So, here's the advertisement:
The new space with its high ceilings full of the clean, active aromas of the brewing craft pull in patrons at all hours. Many of them spill out onto the porch with its wood stove and picnicky warmth.
One end of the tasting room contains a cafeteria-style snack bar that's more creative in its offerings than most of the restaurants nearby. There isn't a clear effort to match the food with the brews, but it all goes down together just right. There are tasty standards in the form of small bites, sides, and sandwiches--specials rotate frequently. And the prices make the whole experience a bargain.
Pour-staff are pleasant, knowledgeable, and patient with busy crowds of many different types of customers. They even keep up with the food menu and are on the money with pairing suggestions. Tastes of beer are free, multiple times over if one must debate; snifter samples are inexpensive; full pours are generous. Growler fills are efficient and very fairly priced, without restriction apart from the smallest-batch scratches.
Wandering through the self-guided tour is even fun, and the shop is nice, as well.
Even families find the atmosphere acceptable at the same time that serious hop-o-philes gather and others swill.
The place for suds in the sweetest place on earth.

UPDATE, with a caveat...this place has now outgrown its space and hosting capability, so go between meals during the day on weekdays or right after opening on the weekends. Or, prepare to struggle for service and space to savor in a loud hangar-bar atmosphere.

My trip to troegs pretty much guaranteed that I will be returning. The $5 guided tour is well worth it and they always have one of their rare scratch beers on tap in the tasting room.

Food service is cafeteria style, but don't let that fool you. I had ahi tuna fish tacos which were amazing and my wife had what they called the carnival which had root beer cotton candy.

I can't recommend visiting here enough when you're in the Hershey area.

Although I live in Maryland, Troegs is just over an hour from me, so I visit frequently. The Hershey brewery is a tremendous upgrade from the previous Harrisburg location. The hours are great on both weekdays and weekends and the location is convenient for those visiting Hershey park. Troegs offers growler fills, pints and flights in the tasting room, along with an improved menu. The popcorn and fries are both great. The store offers single bottles, six-packs and cases, along with Troegs swag. The prices on the to-go beers are not spectacular, but the freshness cannot be beat. Troegs brewery is a great place to stop for a pint and a snack, or to hangout and have a few.

A very well designed space, lots of great food options. The beer is exciting and the options unique and delicious, as expected. Do come hungry, and make sure to pace yourself. Did not get to check out the bottle shop, but I'd definitely go out of my way to visit this spot again.

2016 August review: 3rd visit
FYI: GOT my naked elf crowler.
Tried the chocolate nitro. Yes they made a chocolate beer in Hershey PA.
Still same good vibe. Got my stash of items I cannot get back at home.
Got my new t-shirts.
Waved good bye.

Been here twice going home from Hershey park with the family. Basically letting the Dad visit before the family goes home.
Nothing like getting some scratch beer not available at home.

Oh HOME of Nugget nectar and mad elf MMMMMmmm
Can't be the stuff on tap.
Yet to try the naked elf , which was only available at the brewery. Missed my opportunity.

Great place. Got More T shirts !!

That's all from me

Really cool place to hang tour or eat. Bar was full for Friday which is great. But it is a big bar so a bit slow to get a beer in between samplers and growlers. Had a scratch sour wheat 'gose' was delicious. Had to bring it home

Had a nice tasting tour at their Hershey Brewery. The different beers we tasted were interesting and very different. Nice to sample such a wide variety of beers, and see the brewery process.

The public tasting room is large but inviting. The gift shop had a nice variety as well as both cans and bottles to take home.

Love the large wooden table and the outside seating. Food items are very basic but perfect for the setting, the walk through self guided tour is nice and the bottle shop has one-off selections.
Certainly a weekend haunt for out of town visitors as during the week its fairly quite.

Atmosphere: Awesome brewery, place is a piece of art. Not a spec of dirt anywhere, place is immaculate. Have been here twice, I recommend going during the week. On a weekend, place is swamped and extremely hard to find any type of seating or tours.

Quality: Troegs makes awesome beers, but on tap at the brewery they are a different animal. Everything extremely crisp tasting.

Service: Everyone was pretty awesome there. All very nice, quick, prompt, and seem to really dig when you wear a cool beer shirt because I have gotten a numerous compliments on just shirts from employees.

Selection: All year rounds, seasonals, and a few scratches. If luckily, they will have a special 750 available.

Food: The real high light of the whole place. I mean its seriously food you would expect to see at a high end restaurant, with many innovative snacks. Ahi Tuna, oysters, soups, hop oil french fries, pretzels, popcorn, ect.

Value: Beers are resonably prices, usually $5 a pour for the regulars and seasonals, while higher ABV beers reach $7 for a snifter. Food prices are a little high, but the quality is unreal so I didn't mind paying for it.

Troegs Brewery has a great atmosphere. It's what you'd expect for having a bar in a brewery. There are several different bar like counters to enjoy your drinks at, as well as a separate section for booths and tables. There is also an outdoor seating area. The food, although I didn't have any, appears to be well portioned. I think it's a little pricey for the food, but I'll let others be the judge of that.

Once you get a beer, you can carry that into the self-guided tour area of the brewery, or the gift shop off the front entrance. It's quite an enjoyable experience!
