Pulled into this place hoping to find some Hoptown "Old Yeltsin". Unfortunately, I think that beer may be defunct, de-funct.

Time to add another notch to the BevMo belt. As I visit more and more of these stores, I realize how privileged I am to live near the San Luis Obispo BevMo. RJ, thank you.

Beer can be found in the back left corner. The selection was pretty good, probably second only to the SLO BevMo in terms of size. I spotted a surprising number of local breweries, including: Beer Valley, Hoppy Brewing Company, Napa Smith, E.J. Phair, El Toro, Speakeasy, Santa Cruz Mountain, Santa Cruz Ale Works, and Rabbit's Foot Meadery. I also spotted a funny bottle titled "Big Ass Beer". I believe it was brewed by Duke's. Other than those locals, there was a lot of stuff from Lagunitas, Moylan's, Marin, Grand Teton, Avery, Mendocino, Eel River, Lost Coast, Flying Dog, Deschutes, Bear Republic, and Full Sail. They carried Maui CoCoNut Porter as well as Big Swell, and I even saw some bottles from The Bruery (a first in my travels). Solid selection.

That's all I can really say about this place. I didn't talk to any of the employees, and the quality was standard. Nothing appeared to be old, and only a handful of beers were being refrigerated. Just another BevMo, with an above-average selection.

They have a very good quality and selection of beers. I've order over the internet a few time and had my order waiting for me to pick up within a few hours, if not less. If they don't carry a certain ale that I'm interested in, sometimes they'll order it for me.

They have a friendly staff and are a big help when looking for a specific item or a question in general. I have nothing but high praise for the Pleasanton store. I buy most of my beers from this store, although, I go to three other Bevmo's in the Tri Valley.

I've ordered online to pick up at this store several times and they've always been on time and helpful. When I ask questions, they usually have a useful answer but like most of the stores, there usually aren't enough people working at any one time.

The beer choices are good and I can usually find something new for a good price. Some six packs are a little higher in price than I'd like but there are a LOT to choose from. Also very nice is the amount of single, 22 oz. bottles available.

Not the easiest location to get to, at least it is easy to see as you are coming off the freeway.

I was in the area for a business trip and decided to see what I could find here that I haven't been able to find in Minnesota or in my recent trip to NYC. I expected to round out my "wish list" California beers and didn't do too bad.

The bev'mo is the typical sort of "all-things-alcoholic-store" with a lot more complimentary food than I expected (having never been to a bev'mo)

Anyway, the beer selection is pretty good, but lots of things were out of stock when I stopped by. The Alaskan brewing co was well represented, as was Rogue. Lots of other CA breweries seemed pretty well represented, including Hoptown (the local Pleasanton brewery), Lost Coast, Stone, a good selection of Bear Republic. They also had a good selection of Deschutes brews. The also had Hair-of-the-Dog Fred and Adam in 12 oz bottles (I've only seen them in 1.5l bottles). East coast was poorly represented (as expected), but the Ommegang selection was surprisingly good. Import selection wasn't bad - pretty typical Belgian and German selections plus plenty of English beers. There were quite a few more Indian beers than I have seen anywhere.

Service was pretty much non-existant. There were four employees in the store clustered by the cash register standing around talking. They knew the stock moderately well, but didn't know anything about any of the beers.

Overall, it was worth the trip to get some of the west coast beers I've been looking for. Seems like a good place to go in Pleasanton at least.

This is the best selection of any bev'mo that I've been to and yes they are all different. I haven't seen LaChoffe or McChouffe in a long time and I have never seen the Mad Brewer's Mad Bitch in a 12oz. bottle. Pretty predictable stuff otherwise but still a very good selection. They had a more extensive Rogue collection like the I2PA and the Old Crustacean and five or six deschutes beers. The hometown HopTown beers are well represented. This is a great bev;mo to stock up, try new things, and then complain to your local bev'mo beer guy why he's so lazy.

Bev MO” has a large selection of a lot of different beers; they tend to focus on some local beers and then a wide selection of fairly standard micros and imports. Maybe its just me, but I have found that Beverages and More selection varies tremendously from store to store. Its obvious that they have separate buyers for each store. That said, the Bev Mo in Pleasanton has the best selection of beer of all the East Bay and SF Peninsula. They tend to get some of the bigger micro from Lagunitas, Marin and Stone. And they get some imports I haven’t seen anywhere else. The staff is knowledgeable, and if they don’t know they will find someone who is. They can get a little snippy about returning bad beers, but they will exchange stuff that you bring back. Parking is plentiful, and there is an IN-n-Out burger in the same complex.
