From notes taken 04/14/17:

Pale straw gold, mostly clear but with a fine, uniform particulate haze. White head, delicate, rocky, moderate retention. Smells like a Pilsner with orange and strawberry notes. Palate halfway between a Pale Lager and a Witbier, not really enough overt citrus or berry or spice flavor, it’s just barely passable as a White Ale. At least not a characteristic one, maybe there are some out there that are more plain but still well within style guidelines. Still, it’s okay. It’s grassy, mildly grainy (rice?), with lemon and just a little orange. This last bit seems more akin to orange juice added to a decent Shandy than orange peel in a White Ale. Also comparable to a speciality/seasonal Blonde Ale with citrus or citric hops added. Hops or spices are more floral than anything. A little more ale-like in the finish with the faintest rind and pepper notes. Lighter end of medium in body, sloshy and fizzy to sudsy. Overall, it has a good flavor and quenches my thirst.

Pours a cloudy golden yellow, with a small head that doesn't stick around. Citrus smell is bright and sunny, pleasant. Tastes of oranges and hops, slightly bitter with a clean finish. Overall: a good, refreshing beer.

Cloudy light straw yellow with a finger of white foam head that leaves sheets of lacing.

Distinctive lemony, peppery aroma -- nutmeg, coriander, lemon peel, orange peel, mild soap. This continues to the taste, where, honestly, it sort of overwhelms. The citrus is extremely strong, the soapiness carries over, too, both a bit too much to my taste. The spice is definitely very present in the taste, too. Pretty strong bitterness mixes with the citrus and soap on the backend.

Medium bodied, slightly creamy, with a fairly prickly mouthfeel.

This is a surprisingly big, in-your-face beer. Super juicy. Glad to try it, but not something I'd come back to often.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass at the World of Beer in Pooler, GA. The appearance is a clear bright gold color with a small white head. The aroma is mild and is mostly light hops and some fruit. The taste is a very nice blend of fruit and spice.

I had this beer at a local sushi restaurant. From a bottle, the beer is a hazy gold-yellow color. Sweetish with a lot of orange-peel notes. Medium-light in body with a soft mouthfeel. It went very well with a selection of nigiri.

22 oz bottle poured in a stemmed glass. This paired great with spicy Korean BBQ. The orange juice adds a great balance with the wheat spiciness. Hazy appearance, outstanding witbier.

Very good wit. The orange zest acidity balance the heavy wheat presence. Its taste goes well with the malted wheat body and the spicyness of the yeast

Bottle served at JO2 in Kauai, HI. Hazy yellow, typical witbier appearance. Aroma was not what I was expecting, earthy, funky, bretty. I thought my senses were deceiving me but when I sipped it I got a fantastic brett flavor, funky, lemony, reminiscent of a Jolly Pumpkin beer. Best wit I've ever had.

I tried the Hitachino at Montanos in Roanoke. It poured a hazy yellow with white head that is not leaving any lace. ....and lots of settlement. The scent had floral hop hints. The taste was floral potpourri like. The Mouthfeel is lighter in body with fizzy carbonation. Overall it's ok.

murky orange and fledling white head, appropriate but not a beauty
Smell is mainly peppery with some orange notes and wheat things
Taste is more towards orange peel, the aromatic oils part not the piff or bitterness, some tartness probably from the wheat
drinks smooth and refreshing
Great take on witbier, not traditional but still classic

Look: Slightly off gold-yellow with a thin white head
Smell: Straw and lemon, herbal and grassy, light breadyness
Taste: Excellent balance between the malt and the floral, slightly muted hop profile. Very soft, subtle bread and baked taste.
Feel: Medium heavy mouthfeel for such a light colored beer. Super smooth carbonation. A bit on the slicker side.
Overall: Definitely going to be a classic in my books.

Really enjoyed this straight from the bottle. Interesting citrus notes with some vanilla. Easily and quickly drank. Nice but can get cheaper beers for the same quality.

Very pleasant, very crisp and perfect refreshing balance of a white ale done Japanese--clean cut. Orange/citrus on the nose, pours a golden yellow w/ minimal head--separates it from the comparable UFO.

Pours a beautiful dense peach haze. Lasting cap.

Apricot, citrus - orange, very dense fruit. Light earth notes, zesty.

The taste is immediately satisfying. Sweet pineapple. Dried fruit. A dash of salt and pepper. Vanilla sweetness. Dry oak.

The mouthfeel has a velvety texture, smooth, delicious. ABV tastes around 4.5% . Dry yet soft and delicate. Good light non-intrusive carbonation.

This is a damn good beer. One of the best lighter beers I've had. Hell one of the best beers I’ve ever had.

330ml bottle poured into a 350ml beer glass.

Pours a nice cloudy deep yellow with a pretty good loose head that died instantly.

Nose is nice with citrus, white pepper, coriander and orange.

Palate follows with minimal bitterness and is drying with a little spice. Very refreshing.

Body is quite light but mouthfeel is quite good.

Overall a very well-made beer. Good for the style.

Highly recommended.

Smell: Malts, cloves and coriander are predominant in the aroma.
Taste: Coriander, cloves ginger and just a bit spicy; It’s sweet overall with a mild tart finish.
Mouthfeel: Creamy, yet crisp and full of carbonation. Medium bodied, semi dry and very smooth in its aftertaste.
Overall: This is a very good wit bier

Pours a pale pale light yellow with cloudiness. Nice white foam that recedes fair quickly. Banana and coriander spice along with yeast on the nose. Taste of that classic Belgian spice, coriander, slight clove, very little banana to taste. More of light citrus fruits and then the Belgian yeast with a little bit of funk. I stress minimal funk but highlights are there finishes with a bit of wheat. Finishes very light and moderately dry. As a fan of the style this one didn't disappoint.

A classic. At worst, an excellent copy of the real deal. At best, its best competitor.
Looks are little uninspiring (but so is the style.)
Smells come in complex with unique spicing and sweet wheat well-blended with the barley.
Taste wins big points on the spicing and the rich luxurious, soft mouth (albeit a bit thin.)
Listed on the "1001", this deserves to be there as its yeast is one of the few outside of Belgium to capture the Belgian spirit... and certainly one of the early ones to succeed.

Delicate and nuanced in every aspect.
I get hints of orange juice and some coriander in the nose.
I feel like I can taste the orange juice on the finish and a bit of the spices. Light and smooth with a crisp finish.

From Carrefour. In Teku glass. Reviewing CSHTP6 Ch4. A standard lightly spiced witbier, with nothing specially good nor specially bad apart from a noticeable lack of carbonation. BB date next month

A: Very pale, yellow. Cloudy. Colour is a mix of 2 parts Robinson's lemon barley water and 1 part orange barley water. Minimal head reduces quickly to a patchy cap. Almost no lacing.

S: Wheat, yeast, spices, a little banana. The coriander (ground coriander, not cilantro) is an alluring hint in the background.

T: Can taste the orange juice. Can sense the coriander. Wish the wheat was more pronounced.

F: Starts with a pleasant level of carbonation, moves to a strangely flat/bitter middle, ends herbal. Is refreshing nonetheless. Unusual but a grower.

O: Unusual but enjoyable. Ingredients fight each other at times. My personal preference would be to dial down the orange juice/orange peel a little.

11.2oz bottle poured into a tulip. Pours a thin, slightly hazy yellow, with yeast from the bottom of the bottle suspending in beautiful trails throughout the beer. A rapidly rising white head (3 fingers) forms, but rapidly recedes, leaving lacing with moderate retention. Nose is crisp, slight funk with a sharp bite. The palate is clove and banana, with a yeasty element more prominent at the backend. As the beer warms, spices emerge (cinnamon and nutmeg). Mouthfeel is relatively thin, but pairs well with the rest of the brew. Overall, I feel I'm at a loss to describe or compare witbiers with any authority, as it's not a style I usually turn to. Though underwhelmed by the initial appearance and nose of the beer, the palate is complex and robust enough that it makes up ground lost by the former. A good import, and though not one I'd buy again for the price, a solid beer.
