A - Black, with brown hints, opaque, with a tan head about a finger high, fading away to a thin ring and lacing.

S - Roast malts, coffee hints, and a very strong hit of alcohol.

T - Big roast malt, strong coffee and chocolate hit, a hint of soy, a middle full of molasses and toasted bread, and a mildly bitter close.

M - Slick and full, very big for its middle of the road ABV. A bit of dryness in the close.

O - An interesting, pleasant take on the imperial stout. The nose is full of booze, but the taste is moderate. The coffee is not terribly forward, but is present and underpins the molasses and roasted malts.

The colour is black, the two finger head is brown and compact. It sinks slowly leaving some lacing.

The smell is semi-sweet with distinct notes of espresso coffee. Quite a lot of caramel, hints of bitter hops and coffee.

The taste is semi-sweet with lots and lots of coffee and chocolate. Cream and roasted malt, red berries and passing bitterness. Medium body. The aftertaste got even more coffee and some dark chocolate, smooth bitterness and growing clean sweetness. Hints of red berries, cocoa, coconuts and liquorice.

The carbonation is strong, the many small bubbles are fresh and long-lived. The liquid is smooth.

A very smooth beer with elegant coffee and chocolate.

Pours a nice licorice black with a creme brule colored head, leaving hilly lace and fading slow.

Smells like straight up prune juice. Maybe a little coffee or charred chocolate in the background.

The flavor brings more of the coffee forward, and lingers with acidity and pleasant bitterness as it fades. A touch of "chokoreto" and roast malt also float in. I'm left with pure coffee ground on the finish.

The feel on the palate is significant and creamy. It's huge, and filling in a good way. A mild carbonation keeps it from turning into sludge.

Espresso Stout is a good one to try if you like coffee beers. It lives up to its name and for me, that is all that matters.

Pours black with a dreamy, dark creme colored head. A spot or two of lacing left behind. Fantastic look. Coffee and espresso hit the nose first, with a smooth, malty aroma in the background. The taste is a good espresso, with some malt, stout complexities. Mouth feel is rather nice, although not exceptional. Still feels robust and smooth. Overall, I really quite enjoy this beer. The espresso/coffee flavors are nice and at the front, without being overdone or feeling charred.

Served in a 12oz snifter. I will say, I'm biased in that I love coffee. So keep that in mind with my review.

Dark black with a tan head that goes away and only leaves a trace of lacing behind. The smell is coffee and roasted malts. The taste is massively bitter coffee with a minor amount of sweetness. This is a solid coffee beer and it is all coffee.

Black pour with a small brown head. Taste has a really nice espresso/coffee ground flavor that is smooth and not bitter. Aroma has espresso and lightly roasted dark malt. Slight coffee bitterness and a chocolate flavor develops as the beer warms. Finishes with a really nice lingering double-shot of espresso flavor.

The slightly higher carbonation level releases the coffee flavor that much more. It has a (good) bitter bite at the end, with a nice espresso finish.
