Big Brother to our Mother’s Milk. It starts with our Mother’s Milk recipe, we then add copious amounts of brown sugar to add body and increase the alcohol content. Then, after primary fermentation, we infuse a cold coffee extract from our friends down the street, Monkey Joe’s Roasting Co.

Pours jet black with a thick creamy deep beige colored head atop,no light getting thru this.Dark roast coffee, vanilla, and chocolate aromas, somewhat sweet but very appetizing.Thick and creamy like I was hoping for,it makes the beer more true to form.Vanilla, and lactose sweetness hits up fron on the palate with the roast coffee coming in the finish,no harsh edges.A fantastic big milk stout, dessert in a bottle.

Bottle purchased at Beers of the World in Henrietta, NY.

This one pours a dark black, with a foamy half inch head, and a decent amount of lacing.

This one smells like light coffee, lactose, and chocolate.

The coffee is much stronger in the taste here, it's a sweeter coffee flavor, rather than a more roasty one, with some syrupy chocolate, and a tiny bit of roasted malt. The lactose comes out in the flavor fairly strongly.

This is a very creamy and smooth stout, mouthfeel-wise, with a normal level of carbonation.

A decent if unspectacular coffee stout.

A: [3.25] Pours a very dark brown to black. The pour forms a scant 1/4 finger head that is gone pretty quickly. The bottle has no ABV or born on date (just a batch date).

S: [4.25] Very prominent coffee nose maybe followed by small amounts of vanilla. The coffee is pleasant - not overpowering.

T: [4.00] The first sip was more chocolate forward than I expected. There is milk chocolate upfront followed by a long coffee finish. There is an underlying sweetness throughout that peaks at the finish.

M: [4.00] The mouthfeel is quite creamy and rich. There is a slight drying at the finish with the bitter from the coffee but it is pleasant.

O: [4.00] This beer lacks where it doesn't count (head formation, labeling, etc.) but has it where it is needed (smell, taste, mouthfeel). This is my second Keegan Ales and they have both been well above average. I like this coffee stout and would definitely drink it again.
