Big Brother to our Mother’s Milk. It starts with our Mother’s Milk recipe, we then add copious amounts of brown sugar to add body and increase the alcohol content. Then, after primary fermentation, we infuse a cold coffee extract from our friends down the street, Monkey Joe’s Roasting Co.

What do you do when you have one of the best Stouts around in the form of Keegan Ales' Mother's Milk Stout? You take the base recipe and add some coffee with a dash of chocolate. Thick black body with a strong head that reduces to tan lacing. Odors of chocolate and coffee abound. Full stout, barley, and coffee on the nose. MId-palate the bitters break into luscious chocolate, caramel, and banana bread. Some tart acidity on the back palate courtesy of cocoa and Kona hints. Aftertaste is a mix of good Kona coffee and fine Swiss chocolate. Wet mouth feel. Very drinkable. Smooth and consistent. 4 out of 5. Very good. Recommended.

Received in a trade.
A: Very dark brown/black. Looks like a cup of coffee. One finger of khaki head that is pretty tight around the edges. Nice lacing,
S: Wow! Big coffee. Backed by a strong roastyness and the sweet smell of the lactose. Small bit of bitter chocolate. Aroma is phenomenal.
T: Follows the nose dead on. Strong coffee and roasted malt with a bit of sweetness throughout from the lactose. Tastes like a dark roast coffee with a bit of milk in it.
MF: The only disappointment. Pretty thin, almost watery feeling, though not at all watery tasting. Not a bad mouthfeel, just wanted a bit more body for that 8% ABV.

Overall: Excellent beer. One of the better coffee beers I have had. Great breakfast beer!

Poured very dark brown. Head is also brown, it is a nice looking brew. Lots of rich, coffee goodness on the nose. Coffee with cream. Chocolates in the nose, too. Flavor is well advertised by the nose. Coffee with cream and some fudge flavor. Body isn't overly thick but the alcohol is very well hidden. Well carbonated. A tasty coffee themed brew.
