This is a black I.P.A (Get it? Black Eye P.A.) that first hits you with a big floral hop aroma that really invites you in. Upon tasting this beer, the chocolate malty flavor overtones take over the forefront of the pallet. It then returns to you and finishes with a traditionally big I.P.A. hop character. We’ve only brewed a limited supply so don’t miss your chance to try some and get knocked out with flavor.

On tap at the Lark in East Northport, NY: pours black color with brown around the edges, it had a creamy 1 finger tan head that faded slowly and left decent creamy lacing.
Smells of chocolate malt, caramel, cocoa powder, charcoal, floral hops, piney hops, lemon zest and peat moss; very nice combo of roasted malts and hops for nice balance.
Tastes of chocolate malt, burnt grains, caramel, cocoa powder, burnt wood or charcoal, floral hops, dark fruit, piney hops, lemon zest, citrus hops, light grapefruit and peat moss; trails off bitter with a chocolate flavor that's got lemon zest and shows decent balance even though the malts are very strong.
Mouthfeel is crisp and zesty, with a medium chewy body, average carbonation and a bitter finish. A very nice black IPA that leans more on the stout or porter side, but is still highly drinkable.
A very solid beer with enough malt and hops in it to keep it interesting and flavorful. I was at the bar with a bunch of people and 4 of had an enjoyed this beer so much that we all had seconds.
