A 330ml can with a BB of Dec 2017. Purchased a little while back from Tesco. According to the label 'korev' is a Cornish word that means beer.

A: Poured into a pilsner glass. A bright golden hue with some floating sediment and light carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a minute or two before collapsing to a patchy surface layer.

S: Aroma of pale, grainy malt with hints of earthy yeast, faint leafy hops and a whisper of barley sugar. Clean but uninteresting.

T: Tastes of pale malt with notes of light husky grain, earthy yeast and faint herbal hops. Slightly harsh. A crisp, dry bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and average body. Aftertaste of harsh stewed hops, pale malt, earthy yeast and a touch of cooked grain.

O: Fairly average lager - better than some macro efforts but nothing special. Looks OK, while the aroma and flavour are a pretty bland combination of light malt and weak hop notes. Decent body. Drinkable but not particularly enjoyable; no need to hunt it down.

Drank from my Conic pint glass.

A - Pours the classic Golden LAger colour with a nice White head that retains well.

S - Plenty of lager malt aromas and grassy hops.

T - Up front some nice hops folloewd by some lager malts. The finish is quite bitter and lemon grassy.

M - Light body and fullish carbonation as you would expect.

O - Everything that you would expect from a very wel thought out lager. You will do well to find a better example.

Golden yellow colour./Little to no head.
Grainy aroma with a hint of freshly harvested barley.
Light caramel with lager hops. Sweetish.
Light feel but well carbonated.

It doesn't scream quality or Cornwall
there is a nice malty subtle spice in the flavour
A lot better than say Carling
& about on par with a bog standard Munich bier
If someone gave me a free cold one on a hot day I wouldn't say no
but I wouldn't cross the street to buy another

Can, tesco, BBE 12/2017. Pours straw, slight haze, small head.

getting some blackcurrant on the nose, other fruits I assume from the yeast. faint citrus, some floral and spicy hop. It's nice and not what I was expecting.

More malts and some pithy bitterness in taste. Medium carb, finish is medium with some bitterness

It's pretty good for a British lager

Served cold from 500ml bottle into straight mug.

L) Pale golden colour, clear, lots of bubbles, thin white head.

S) Nothing huge, just a bit of lager-type hops.

T) Slightly dry malt flavour with hint of fragrant hops.

F) Light and fizzy, although the beer dries your mouth out a bit. Not the best.

O) High quality British lagers are few and far between. This isn't one of them. Looking up the ingredients; flaked maize (i.e., corn) is listed. The search for he best British lager continues.....

Helles Style Lager perfect pale golden colour, lightly carbonated, 4.8% "hoppy" in the mouth. Served on draught at "The Old Customs House", in Padstow, Cornwall. Refreshing to be served by someone who knows what they're serving, free sample provided with detailed knowledge down to the last hop. Both a beer and a bar to look out for!

Pours a sunny straw with smallish head that leaves some touches of lace and a lasting ring. Nose is light malt and a citrusy ester...a bit like a cross between a lager and a saison. Taste is similar, with light malt biscuit, a bit of citrus and hay. Bright carbonation keeps it crisp. Overall, a surprisingly good lager. No off flavors, and something I could crush in the summer for sure. Really likable.

From a 500ml bottle.
L: Clear, gold colour. Thin head disappears quickly. No lace. A few streams of bubbles.
S: Sweet & grainy.
T: Yep. Tastes the same as it smells.
F: Slightly cloying. Low carbonation. Low bitterness. Swallow and it's gone.
O: No off notes or flavours, but not crisp or refreshing either. Too sweet. Disappointing, bog-standard lager...right down to the use of corn.
