22oz bottle poured into a goblet

A- pours a deep brown color with a ruby hue poking through, small creamy khaki colored head retains nicely, eventually reducing to a thin film that stays on top long after the pour

S- initial impression is that it smells exactly like a pumpkin spice latte! Very nutty up front with big notes up cinnamon & nutmeg, heavy cream, vanilla, pumpkin spice, cappuccino. Very impressive aroma

T- sweet and nutty up front with flavors of heavy whipping cream, quickly followed by lots of cinnamon, nutmeg & pumpkin spice. Caramel may/brown sugar sweetness near the finish, there is a nice linger of espresso that hits after the swallow with more nutty notes coming through

M- medium body with light carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel and a silky and creamy finish, high drinkability

O- a unique pumpkin ale that blends the coffee and pumpkin spicing nearly perfectly. It smells and tastes just like a Starbucks pumpkin spice latte. I will seek this out again next year

a great beer. not sure there is pumpkin in here, but a great spiced coffee brew, true to its name. so glad elysian is continuing to experiment with pumpkin brews, its really become their thing. this has a great coffee hit over a matte black malt base that flashes dark brown. a nose of nutmeg and cinnamon is true to the taste, that does the same thing. dark roasty chocolate malt is ripe, but little happens with squash itself. real plain there, but the nutmeg and cinnamon are dialed in. one after the other, and and awfully luxurious richness for a beer at just 5% abv. its insane really, far better than its price and its ratings, this is unique and delicious. dry too, which i love in a spicy beer. top of the class for the elysian pumpkins ive had. love the dry espresso berry thing here, it compliments it all real well. best of the season.

Very deep mahogany beer with a tan head. Minimal lacing left on the glass. The smell is exactly like a pumpkin spice latte. Coffee, sweetness and pumpkin spices. The taste follows the smell with cinnamon taking the lead on the spices. A nice coffee and pie spice flavor with a great malt sweetness. The mouthfeel is medium and creamy. Really a great "pumpkin" beer.

Punkuccino is flat out one of the best pumpkin beers out there, and I've had quite a few.

It's not a conventional pumpkin ale. I think of a conventional pumpkin ale as having the light color, spicy aroma, and sweet pumpkin flavor of pumpkin pie, but in a beer.

Punkuccino is a hybrid between a pumpkin ale and a coffee ale. It's dark and roasty. It's got plenty of spice (mainly cinnamon to me). There's pumpkin there, but in moderation. There's coffee there, but in moderation. It's just a little sweet, not too much (much less sweet than your typical pumpkin spice latte).

Everything comes together in perfect and delicious balance. A very fine beer from the Elysian pumpkin beer wizards!

A: Pours an opaque dark brown that resembles a cup of black coffee. Thin espresso foam colored head that dissipates. No visible carbonation and no lacing.

S: Intense notes of cinnamon spice and nutmeg. Strong notes of coffee and pumpkin. A hint of vanilla. Absolutely delectable nose. Perfect.

T: Dominated by coffee flavor. Moderately sweetened coffee with a hint of bitterness on the finish. Pumpkin and notes of spice follow, but are secondary to the coffee.

M: Smooth mouthfeel with a moderate amount of carbonation.

D: Highly drinkable. I do wish the intense spiciness on the nose translated into flavor, but this is an solid beer. One that probably lends itself more to someone desiring coffee than pumpkin. Personally wish it had more intense pumpkin flavor, this is up,there with the best coffee ales I've had, with a delicious pumpkin twist.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass

Appearance – The beer pours a deep brown color with a one finger head of a cream colored foam. The head has a decent level of retention, fading over time to leave a lighter level of streaky lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma of the brew is super strong of a cinnamon and nutmeg smell with a decent sum of roasted coffee and some roasted pumpkin. There is a tiny bit of a brown sugar and caramel as well, creating a rather roasty pumpkin pie smell overall.

Taste – The taste begins with a rather roasty and lightly coffee tinted flavor. The pumpkin is very light upfront with it growing just slightly stronger as the taste advances. The spice however, which is also light upfront, increases to a greater extent than the pumpkin, giving a rather decently strong cinnamon and nutmeg taste to be on the tongue at the end of the taste. Along with the spice flavors comes some flavors of a roasted coffee taste, and with a little bit of caramel and brown sugar taste coming to the tongue at the end, one is left with a rather pleasantly spiced and lightly pumpkin-roasted flavor to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is a little bit thinner for a darker pumpkin brew with a carbonation level that is average. A little thicker of a body may have been slightly nicer for the pumpkin and roasted flavors, but with that said, the lighter body was rather nice for the rich spice, so overall the feel was rather decent.

Overall- While not as much coffee as I would have expected and with a rather strong showing of spice, it was still overall a very enjoyable and drinkable beer. I would certainly get this again. Another good pumpkin brew by Elysian.

Another new favorite pumpkin beer. To me the flavor, reminded me of cinnamon laced hot chocolate. This beer is nutty, chocolate-y, spicy and a hint of pumpkin. I don't get much coffee flavor but that's alright by me.
