"The award winning Imperial Oatmeal Stout takes on a new dimension as they combine Dragonstooth taken from barrels that once held whiskey from Seattle’s Westland Distillery and Spokanne’s Dry Fly, and some former Bourbon barrels from Claremont and Buffalo Trace. Malts: made with 10% rolled oats, roasted barley, Crystal, Munich and chocolate malts. Hops: bittered with Magnum and finished with Cascade and Centennial."

From 02/03/13 notes. Had this on tap Ginger Man; was surprised to see it because I didn't know they ever did a Bourbon BA version. 12 oz. pour in a snifter.

a - Pours a dark brown, almost black color, with one inch of very dark brown head and moderate carbonation evident. Looks fantastic.

s - Smells of sweet light bourbon, sweet chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, cream, oak, vanilla, and toasted malts. The nose is awesome; definite bourbon up front but it is not overpowering. Sweet and delicious.

t - Tastes of bourbon, sweet chocolate, roasted malts, dark chocolate, vanilla, cream, burnt malts, and very light coffee. Less bourbon than nose but still really good. Lots of sweet chocolate.

m - Medium to full body and moderate carbonation. Tiniest bit chewy and no heat at all. Great mouthfeel.

o - Overall I thought this was a great beer. I like the base beer a good amount but this is even better. It's nice to have a BBA stout that isn't too high in ABV and had a bit of bourbon, but not a ton that overpowers it every now and then. Nice sweet chocolate, bourbon, and vanilla, no heat, and easy to drink. Would love to have this one again.
