Notes: Dayglow IPA: Another Manic Lupululu! This is a beer with the insistent beat of hops, as driving and inevitable as a Full Moon party in Haad Rin. It drips with tropical, sunshiny Mosaic, and twinkles with touches of El Dorado and Centennial. A touch of wheat hazes the malt bill a bit around the edges, and the IBUs are stuck in the mid-sixties.

Tap at tavern in the square Northborough

Thick creamy head 1 finger, tons of lacing, hazy copper orange

Nose little sweet candy malt, little toasted sweet reddish grain, big candied fruit hops, little citrus, stone fruit, little grapefruit, grassy spicy bit piney

Taste brings sweet malt, pretty sweet copper reddish malt, candied fruit hops, little citrus, little stone fruit candied, marmalade, little grassy earthy piney, touch tropical generic, little grapefruit too, but mostly spicy and piney later, little sticky sweet finish

Mouth is med to heavy bod syrupy, decent carb

Overall eh, hops are not very stand out and malts are way too much all around. Super sweet heavy beer.

Bottled on 4/20/17. 12oz bottle poured into a tulip. Pours golden with a subtle haze; small white head that fades leaving nice retention and sticky lacing. The aromas are citrus forward along with some bready malts. Lots of orange along with some grapefruit. Crackers are there. The flavors basically follow the nose. Lots of orange leading the way. Some grapefruit and pine in the mix. More fresh bread and crackers along with some hints of caramel. Malts do their thing. Moderate bitterness. Finishes juicy for the most part. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is nice. It's medium-bodied with moderate to active carbonation. It's slightly fluffy and very smooth.

This is a solid IPA. I feel that the mosaic hops get lost and don't shine, but it's still enjoyable. It's not flashy or anything crazy, but it's not bad at all.

Appearance: Pours a hazy amber with a magnificent head; excellent stickage and copious lacing

Smell: Tropical fruit and a touch of biscuit; sugary and floral

Taste: Bright tropical fruit flavors open first, with papaya, mango and pineapple; some pithy citrus and onion tones, in the middle; biscuity malt underneath but this is all about the hops

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: A nice IPA; doesn't break any new ground but it does what it does very well

Thanks, mabermud, for the opportunity

Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is straw gold, slightly opaque, not really hazy, head is off white with fine to small bubbles that presents at least 1 inch thick and then dissipates to a solid top with great lacing on the glass.

Smell is blend of earthy and piney hops with more tropical fruity hops, lean earthy and pine but some fruity flavors.

Taste is similar with earthy, piney, lightly spiced and tropical hops - mosaic seems prominent with blend of el dorado and centennial flavors backing. Wheat provides light softness to back the more bitter hops. Good flavor and pleasant bitterness. Seems to blend aspects of new wave and classic ipa.

Mouthfeel is seems sharp at first, but likely due to temperature, then it cleans up and allows the bitterness to round out the presence with low to moderate carbonation.

Overall a good ipa with a pleasant blend of classic and modern hops.

A: Poured from the bomber into a Duvel tulip. Body is clear golden-amber that appears more yellow when backlit. Half-finger whitish head on top leaves some lacing behind.

S: Hops smell of citrus, mainly grapefruit; also a bit of tropical fruit salad. Hint of bready malt underneath.

T: Doesn't quite taste as good as it smells, but it's solid. Sweet malt foundation surprises - bread doughy, honey and even brown sugar all make an appearance. Followed by a spicy bite that makes me think of rye, then you get the hops - a touch of grapefruit, some lemon and bitter pine needles. Lingering bitterness really coats the palate.

M: A wee hit on the thin or watery side. Call it medium in heft, though in some ways it comes across as lighter. A bit slick in feel too.

O: A solid IPA, though not an exceptional one.

Poured into a frosty glass with lot’s of head - 2” from a bottle, amber gold colour with little haze. Not much smell, a little fruit. Stong hop taste with a little burn in the back of the throat. Slight melon and fruit taste, just above average for an IPA. It’s a tad expensive as all with Elysian, would want more body for the price, but that’s just a preference, it’s not bad by any means.

On tap at the Local Taphouse for their 4th of July 2014 US Tap Takeover.

Pours a pale orange gold, bubbly white head with slight haze. Decent lace; looks alright.

Hoppy on the nose. Resinous and piney with citrus as well, hugely bitter-smelling but nice caramel, cake batter malt coming through as well. It knows what it is. Surprisingly sweet but actually not bad.

Taste is hoppy, and yeah, IPA-esque. Pleasant with lots of citrus zest and pith upfront, gets odd caramel toffee notes midway before resinous bitter finish. Yeah, pretty decent West Coast IPA, amusingly unpretentious in the world of double and triple IPAs.

Quite a harsh texture from the hop oils. Decent body though.

Bit bitter, but nice enough flavours.

The only "complaint" I can come up with is that it is somewhat filling... Other than that I have to have at least a pint a day! Great after work brew.

Poured out a slightly hazy, golden color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled tropical - pineapple, grapefruit and orange. Nice toasted caramel taste with sweet tropical fruitiness.

22 ounce bottle poured into belgian ale glass. Not all at once.

Very pleasant amber. Two finger head with good retention and lacing.

Smell is tropical fruiits. Not too piney

Taste is more hop forward. Fruits pick up as it warms. Dry finish.

Pretty aggressive carbonation throws the balance a bit for me.

Quite nice but could stand less carbonation.
